1,000 man new Iraq Army Unit Refuses Assignment!

A 1000 man unit of new Iraqi Army that we are training to allow us to bring our troops home refused to go to their FIRST assignment. They tour off their uniforms and said, HELL NO WE WON'T GO. If we have any more success in Iraq we will be there for a 100 years. Like Powell said Break It and it is yours. Bush broke it and now we are stuck with it!
As to the source of this story-- Hardball tonight.

Someone must have told those folks that you were being put in charge of the unit... Who could blame them then?

NOt surprising at all. In fact the US Dept of Defence has finally admitted that its troops are using excessive force in civillian areas of Baghdad. Kill first and then ask questions was the way the US Army was functioning. The Iraqis are now refusing to fire against their own people.

They were sunnis that I believe joined the iraqi military specifically for the purpose of undermining it. You also fail to mention that there are as many recruits as this that sign up, get their first check, and then stop coming to work every single payday. These just decided to do a little show for the cameras.
You are a ghoul, delighting in other people's misfortunes, Col, just because it strokes your little vendetta. Your behavior borders on the traitorous, because your goal is nothing short of the demoralization of the American people to undermine their duly eleted officials during a time of war. The fact that you do it for profit peddling your book makes it even worse. Shame on you.

I reported a FACT. If two battalions of our troops acted that way it would be ALL over the news. It is the same story with you, if ANYTHING could be considered against Bush you attack either the messenger or change the subject.

God, is this the best you can come up with Col? Out of all those Iraqis risking their lives to fight for their country by joining the military and the police, 1000 refuse to fight and you think this is a big deal? You really are running on fumes. You're out of gas Col.

The big deal is that day after day goes by and the violence continues. Neither elections nor their constitution change the facts on the ground. The attacks continue and dead and injured mount. We continue to spend money this country needs to protect our borders, provide for the coming of the baby boomers, educate our children and protect the health of our country. We read of more and more of the infrastructure that needs to be replaced and we have no money. We are spending $600 plus billion per year more then we tax and yet we can spend $100 Billion in Iraq and for WHAT? There is no money to properly rebuild the levies in the Gulf area and 500,000 have lost their homes. Are we spending the money to help our own people? NO we are spending it in Iraq. The American people do not support either Bush or the GOP controlled Congress. We have a MAJOR disconnect between our elected government and what is important to the VAST MAJORITY of our people! That can not continue!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry but there was money to rebuild the levies. It was budgeted and planed but the environmentalists squashed the idea saying it would dry off the area too much and impact the local wildlife. I used to have the link to the article but don't have it anymore. It is preatty old that was about 5 years ago. So what happened in the Gulf area would have been prevented. Of course it's just easier to blame the government for the mess.

Wrong. There is NO funding to rebuild the levies beyond the cat 3 storm like just before Katrina. There is no help for the 500,000 homes that need to be rebuilt. My point is we can piss away as much as a trillion dollars in Iraq while there are so many things that are needed in this country for which there is no money. WHY?

Keep going and you're gonna give yourself an aneurysm. You better stop. Wait----no, keep going.

You do not give yourself an aneurysm. That is something you either have or do not have. It is a weak spot in an artery. The issues I bring up are real and will not be resolved until the policies of this nation are changed. We can either change them now or wait until they produce siuations that can not be ignored and will be a lot harder to deal with in the future.

I find it very difficult to take someone seriously when they can't even spell.
They tour off their uniforms
That doesn't even begin to make sense.

Well a look at my CV would not say that. The substance of what you have said on JoeUser shows your almost total lack of comprehension for most of what surrounds you on a daily basis. All you do is follow along with policies that have not solved the issues at hand or attack me.
As I have said, since what I post is backed up by the most authoritative sources-- Government agencies, organization or knowledgeable individuals, you show your ignorance by telling me I do not know what I am saying.
