BAGHDAD - Outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair, whose premiership has been dominated by his unpopular decision to join the Iraq war, arrived here on a farewell visit Saturday, and three mortar shells or rockets slammed into the compound where he met with Iraq's leaders.

BAGHDAD - The American military widened the search for three missing U.S. soldiers, detaining nine people in a raid Saturday about 25 miles northwest of where the Americans were captured last weekend.

The U.S. command said Saturday five more American soldiers were killed. One died Saturday from a roadside bomb south of Baghdad. Four died Friday - one in the western province of Anbar, one by small arms fire south of the capital and two by a roadside bomb and small arms fire in northwestern Baghdad, the military said.

Car Bombing in Baghdad Market Kills 25

BAGHDAD - A parked car bomb ripped through a crowded outdoor market in southwestern Baghdad on Tuesday, killing 25 people despite a 3-month-old security crackdown meant to reduce violence in the capital.

At least 60 people were wounded in the 10 a.m. blast in the Shiite-dominated neighborhood of Amil. Nearby buildings were badly damaged and set ablaze, while others were reduced to rubble. Residents ran through the streets with buckets and pots of water, while others frantically tore through the rubble, looking for survivors. Groups of men carried bodies wrapped in tarps out of the damaged buildings.

I lament the deaths not celebrate. The policy we are following has NO chance of ending the violence that has been growing for over 4 YEASRS! That is a policy that continues the deaths and injuries. If the Iraqi people want to allow the killing to continue that is up to them. We must remove out troops from this Civil War and allow the people of Iraq to decide what they want to do with their country.

That is NOT correct. The weapons should not have fallen into the hands of the violent groups that are causing the fighting. We allowed the radical elements that were held in check by Saddam to emerge and armed them selves from over 200 locations within Iraq. We did not stop foreign terrorists from crossing into Iraq. We did not did we stop foreign arms from being brought into Iraq. We did not prevent al Qaeda from setting operations in western Iraq. The reason for ALL these things is because Bush did not listen to the military and send enough troops to accomplish the mission of BOTH removing Saddam from power and controlling the radical elements within and outside Iraq.

If we would have sent the 500,000 troops required, no groups except the established government military we trained would have had access to the weapons. No Foreign terrorists or foreign weapons would have been brought into Iraq if we would have controlled the borders. However with the 150,000 troops Bush sent those missions were not possible!

This did not constitute A DANGER TO OUR COUNTRY THAT JUSTIFID GOING TO WAR.

First Clinton is far from my favorite person and yes he was a draft dodger just like Cheney. As for Bush he got Daddy to keep his ass out of Vietnam by giving him a commission he did not earn or deserve and then when little George was tired of the responsibilities of obeying orders Daddy got him OUT of the guard with an Honorable Discharge George did not earn or deserve!

Bush and Cheney are GOOD at sending other people’s children into harms way for no justified reason but they did not risk their lives when it was their time to serve. SOME Commander-in-Chief!!!!! I am glad I did not serve when GWB was President!
