Petraeus Says He CAN NOT Say Iraq War Has Made U.S. Safer!

The American Commander told the Senate today that after almost 5 years of war, over 3,700 dead American Military, over 27,000 wounded American Military and over ½ Trillion dollars that he does not know if that sacrifice has made America any Safer. That is a DAMMING statement as to the failure of the Bush Policy of invading Iraq from the TOP military commander on the ground!

Bush must be beside himself after learning of the General's statement today. Think of it- Our most senior military commander in Iraq does not know if the sacrifice of the military he now commands has been made in vane. If their sacrifice has not made America safer then for what did they die and be injured? What a FOOL we have as President!

NO - just having WMD does not justify invading Iraq. The CIA told Bush that they did not believe Saddam would use any WMD outside of Iraq. Also if every country that had WMD needed to be invaded we would be at war with 20 countries ion this world. There was NO reason to invade Iraq-- NOT WMD, NOT any danger that Saddam posed and they were not responsible for 9/11.

I am glad you agree with the president! Mr. Bush gave a laundry list of reasons to invade Iraq, why is it that you list the only one that did not prove correct? Could it be that you are cherry picking the intellegnce in order to make your point? Did you not say that doing this cherry picking is wrong?

On top of that Iraq was supporting terrorist in a direct challenge to the Bush doctrine that said that any nation state that helped, supported, funded, harbored terrorist in any way would be treated as the terrorist. He was just doing what you said he should have done to prevent 9/11.

Read the above, to date you have yet to answer this reason to invade Iraq. It was the main reason I supported the removal of Saddam insane.

Why is it that we lose one leader and it is a blow to American efforts while AQ has lost all of their leaders to date except the ones that are currently being hunted and none of thier deaths or capture is a blow to AQ? Iran has lost three General officerss in Iraq and hundreds of Iranian troops have been captured and killed yet according to you that does not seem to be a blow to their efforts to subvert our efforts. How many general officers have we lost in Iraq? How many general officers have our partners in this struggle lost? Losing three generals is a big thing we did not lose that many in all of WWII but according to you we are losing.

i have been thinking about this gene

if you had been in command of the 101st during the battle of the bulge. when they were cut off, had no food, had no ammo, and had no warm clothing. you would have surrendered. if i recall right the 101st won their part of that battle.

Iraq is no where as desperate as the 101st was then.
