Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

I served 30 years as a member of first the Regular Army and then the Army Reserve. I met some of the most dedicated people in my life in the military. Almost to a person they accepted the tasks given them even when those tasks caused great hardship to them and their families. From everything I have read and scene on TV today, our military has never been more committed to protecting our great country.

That is what makes what we have done to them so hard to accept. We sent them into combat believing that their sacrifice was to:

Protect us from what they were told was a danger to our homeland from Iraq.

They were told their service in fighting the Iraq War would make America safer.

We told them we would take care of them if they were injured.

The horrible truth is we LIED. Anyone that supports Bush and Cheney has lied to them just like our two top leaders have done. Saddam was no danger to America and Bush had the intelligence and Pentagon estimate that showed he WAS NO DANGER to our country in 2002. The bottom line is that after over four years of fighting the efforts of our military has not made America safer but less safe. That is not because they did not perform admirably but because the mission they were sent on by Bush was one that was WRONG from the beginning and Bush was warned that attacking Iraq would create the horrible situation we see today. Bush failed to listen to the military planners as to the troop levels needed to secure Iraq and most of our dead and wounded are because Bush did not send the required manpower to secure Iraq and prevent the needless bloodshed we see every day in that Hell Hole! When our wounded return we fail to provide decent medical facilities like we say at Walter Reed and a VA system that is NOT capable of providing the long term services needed by our veterans.

George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have a lot on nerve appearing before the brave members of our military after the way they LIED to them as to WHY we attacked Iraq. They should be ashamed after the way they BOTH failed to serve their country during Vietnam.

For all that say we are winning the Iraq war look at what Gen. Petraeus told Congress yesterday:

The Violence has remained largely the same.

The violence and American causalities will most likely get worse.

The war will require "an enormous commitment" by the U.S.

This is what Bush and Cheney say shows we are WINNING? OVER four years into this war and three months into the Bush Surge, this is the assessment of the top U.S. Commander in Iraq. YES WE ARE REALLY WINNING!!!!!!!

More proof that when we diverted our attention from Afghanistan where 9/11 was planned we failed to make America safer:

Taliban Take Over South Afghan District

KABUL, Afghanistan - Taliban militants have seized control of a district in eastern Afghanistan after an hours-long clash that killed five people, including the local mayor and his police chief, a senior official said Friday.

The Taliban takeover is an embarrassment to the Afghan government and its foreign backers, and shows how vulnerable remote areas remain despite the presence of some 47,000 U.S. and NATO troops.

YOU better look at the facts...

The USAF Art Program of the United States Air Force was begun in 1950, with the transfer of ~800 works of art from the United States Army. The program expanded to offer artist the opportunity to travel with the Air Force to locations around the world to witness military facilities and exercises for the purpose of recording these events in the form of paintings. Artists where selected from the various professional groups around the nation, such as the "Societies of Illustrators" in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The Society has it’s headquarters and museum located in New York City. Today, there are nearly 9,000 works in the Air Force Art Program and the Society of Illustrators has been joined by other organizations* and independent artists to continue documenting Air Force personel, equipment, locations and activities. While they accord the artist all courtesies and privileges as an equivalent grade of GS15/rank or Colonel, it should be noted that the artist’s income and opportunities are suspended during the assignment and creation of the work. Additionally, all work is donated to the Air Force without any permissible tax deductions.

Artists of the Air Force Art Program where actually caught in the fighting of Hue, Vietnam, during the Tet Offensive.

Every eighteen months, a tuxedo banquet was held in Washington DC, for the participating artists of that period. Hosted by the Secretary of the Air Force.

The Program lost considerable funding during the Clinton administration military cutbacks in the 1990s.

i will show you just how smart bill clinton is

they gave him line item veto for a couple of months

now we are told to read everything before you sign it so i would assume that would go before you veto something

bill clinton took his line item veto and went down a list of things when he got to a military entery that said something like 250 million and he vetoed it

the 250 million was to move the existing national guard base from the university of utah campus so that that area could be used to build the winter olympics village

he profusly said he was sorry and that he and congress would come up with another way to get the funds for the move

he also said that he read the word military and just vetoed it

that is how smart bill clinton is

now for his wife

she was one of the investigaters for/against nixon

they passed a law today that went into effect yesterday and that is how they got nixon

in other words nixon did not do anything wrong

you will recall when bill signed his new tax hike 5 days after he took office it too was retroactive one year

and then when the law that hillary got passed came to affect her husband she just said it didn't count

Hey DIM WIT. The cuts in the military started during Bush 41 The Peace Dividend from the Soviet Union ending. Those cuts were outlined in the plan prepared by Cheney when he was Sec of Defense. Those cuts continued during the Clinton years. THOSE ARE THE FACTS!

America has LIED to its Military

by the way when did bush and cheney become america

on Apr 27, 2007
Bush and Chaney are the leaders of this country and they LIED. They may not be America but they speak for America as our leaders and they LIED!!!!! The New Book “At the Center of the Storm” by the former CIA Director will blow the roof off the White House. It is reported to document that Bush and Cheney in fact lied about the danger from Saddam. Today Dick Durban said he was one of the few members of Congress that saw all the intelligence and in fact he know Bush and Cheney were not telling the truth but was unable to speech out because what he knew was classified. On April 30th the book will be released and it looks as if Congress will call Tenant to testify before Congress. Bush will not be able to lie his way out of what Tenant has to say. After all Bush gave him the Medal of Freedom when he retired from being Director of the CIA.
on Apr 27, 2007
then congress lied to for they are the ones who voted for the war including all but one or two of the democrats and one or two of the republicans
on Apr 27, 2007
No, Many members of Congress were not given all the classified Intelligence that did not support what Bush and Cheney were telling us. In addition it was not Congress that proposed invading Iraq under the smoke screen that Saddam was a danger. That was Bush and Cheney. There was no ground swell in congress to invade Iraq they were reaction to Bush and the lies he told them. Dick Durban was one that had ALL the Intel and he DID NOT vote for the resolution. What Tenant is saying is just what Gen Zinni said and he too was unable to come forward at the time because the Intel that disputed what Bush and Cheney were telling us was kept secret! America's two top leaders LIED to our Military, to Congress and to the American people about Saddam and the danger he and Iraq posed to our country! They also supplied incorrect information to Gen. Powell when he gave his 5 Feb 2005 speech to the UN about the danger posed by Saddam.

the leaders of both parties knew everything that the president knew

Half truths become you col. Gene. Yes, the peace dividend you so brilliantly talk about, if you remember, (doubt you will or if you do you won’t admit it) I told you about this months ago and you failed to acknowledge it. You left out the other part of your brilliant observation. That as soon as the Soviet Union fell the democrats wanted a “peace dividend”. The idea was that now that the only enemy we had in the entire world was gone, (thanks to Ronald Reagan and his reckless actions, according to the democrats) we could stop wasting money on the military and their expensive toys and use the money on projects that were important like social programs. They demanded that the President cut some funding to the military so the Congress could waste, I mean spend it on good things like the national endowment of the arts. No one believed that China, North Korea, or Al Qaeda were a danger on the left so as far as they were concerned there were no other threats to the United States. To placate them cuts were made because Congress holds the purse strings and could easily cut funding as they are trying to do now to get their way. The threats were there to see but no one in Congress wanted to see it. Just like now, we are in a war, and the politicians are screaming that it is a political problem, it is a law enforcement problem but it is not either it is a declared war! Wars have only two outcomes, One side wins and one side loses. Whoever gives up loses. Your side wants to give up!

on Apr 27, 2007
“the leaders of both parties knew everything that the president knew”

That is not the issue. What did all members of Congress that voted on the War resolution know?

I just ordered the CIA Director’s Book. Let’s see what he has to say. I bet the White House is not a happy place today!
