Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

Now the Bush Spin Doctors have developed a new rational to keep our troops in Iraq. The story that developed about six weeks ago was that we would not have a complete picture by September and the Surge would require MORE time to show how effective it would be in controlling the fighting in Iraq.

Now we have a NEW twist. If the results show a reduction in the violence in some areas where we have employed additional U.S. Forces, we must keep those increased force levels in place to prevent the fighting from reemerging. In other words no matter what the results of the Surge, we must stay in Iraq!

The truth is that since the Iraq’ Prime Minister has now said his military and police are capable of defending Iraq, there is NO justification for remaining in Iraq except to deal with pockets of al-Qaeda or to continue the logistical and training support for the Iraqi military.

You're an interesting fellow, Gene. In a scientific kind of way.

so you want to down size the troops in areas that violence has been reduced because the violence has been reduced. guess what that is what they have been doing and that is why the violence got out of hand in the first place.

this also means that you agree with what bush was doing in the first place.

And the obsession continues.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki sought to soften earlier comments that American troops can leave "any time they want," saying Monday that Iraq's security force was on the road to taking over from U.S. troops — but it's not there yet.

WORNG-- If we had solved the reasons for the violence, we could remove our troops and the violence would not return. What is taking place is the violence is shifting to locations where we do not have large troop concentrations.

My point is that NO matter what the outcome of the Bush policies, his position is we must remain in Iraq. That is BS. Since the Iraqi PM said has forces can defend Iraq we no longer have any JUSTIFICATION for remaining and placing our forces in danger or to be spending $12 Billion dollars per month in Iraq!
