NOW Bush Threatens to VETO the Farm Bill

President Bush is out of Control. He is under the delusion that he has the power of the purse. For years the Farm Subsidy has strayed from the original intent which was to help the small farmers. The Democrats have made some badly needed changes and now Bush threatens another veto. Here are the changes to the new Farm Bill:

Limit aid to farmers with annual incomes up to $1 Million Dollars. Bush and he GOP had allowed farm aid to farmers with incomes of up to $2.5 Million per year and farmers with multiple farms. Farmers with incomes at that level are NOT SMALL FARMERS.

Increase benefits for the Food Stamp program and expand the after-school snack program to all 50 states.

Impose new taxes on multinational companies with U.S. Subsidiaries.

Require country-of-origin labels on meats, fruits and vegetables.

Steer more money to conservation, specialty-crop and rural-development programs.

EVERY one of the above changes made by the Democrats makes sense and would increase help to those that NEED the help. I guess Bush objects to cutting benefits to his wealthy farm supporters and imposing new taxes on multinational corporations.

all the big companies have to do to qualify is lease small tracts to someone else. the bug company still wins.

“Who’s paying you?” NO one!

These are paid for with US taxes.”

If you are concerned about taxes why would we be providing farm subsidies to framers making 2.5 Million dollars per year? By cutting the amount to 1.0 Million, which I think is still too much, we will save money to pay for the increased food stamps and school food program.

you raise taxes. you raise the cost of doing business. when the cost of doing business goes up then the prices go up to pay for it. it is you and the democrats who cannot for some reason connect the two.

if the cost of making galciv2 goes up then stardock has to raise the price of the game. it doesn't matter if it is because of gas or taxes.

The Only Person GWB makes look like an idiot is himself. Take a look at some of the Bush Clips on You Tube. Watching some of the things Bush has said in Public are embarrassing and to think he is President of the most powerful country in the world makes it that much worse!
