Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

Thursday the Director of the FBI Robert Mueller contradicted the sworn testimony of Attorney General Gonzales. Muller testified that the subject of the hospital meeting at the bedside of the ailing Attorney General Ashcroft was about the disagreement within the Justice Department of the Warrant less Surveillance program. Gonzales testified the subject of that meeting was NOT about the surveillance program. Someone in NOT telling the truth.

It is a sad day for our country when we have either the director of the FBI or the Attorney General lying under oath to Congress. Congress needs to find out who is not telling the truth and that person should then be removed from office and charged with perjury.

The controversy in the Bush Administration never ends.

The truth can be confirmed by the testimony of then Acting AG (Deputy) James Comey who with Andy Card were present in the hospital room during the 2004 meeting. Comey confirmed that the meeting was about the Bush wireless Surveillance program and that he has serious reservations about the program. He also testified that both Gonzales and Card tried to pressure the ailing AG, John Ashcroft at that meeting to overrule the objections of his deputy Comey. Ashcroft has said that he was not the AG at the time of that meeting because he had turned over that responsibility to his Deputy. He also said he supported his deputy. The disagreement was so strong that both the FBI Director and the Deputy AG threatened to resign unless the Surveillance Program was change. Bush later agreed to allow changes in the plan to deal with the legal objections of Comer and Mueller.

It is time to put Andy Card under oath and question him about what took place at the 2004 bedside meeting. However from the testimony so far both Mueller and Comey have contradicted the testimony of Gonzales. It is essential that testimony under oath is obtained from Andy Card. In addition are the Notes from the FBI Director that we made at the time of the 2004 meeting. At issue is possible Perjury by the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the U.S. That trumps any claim of executive privilege!
