Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

To all those that want to defend Bush and his Iraq surge lets look at the facts:

The so Called Unity Government has only one of the three factions participating in the government.

The Maliki Government has agreed on none of the issues that are essential to ending the fighting among the factions in Iraq.

A major Bridge north of Baghdad was destroyed.

One of the governors was killed.

A key Oil official was captured.

Nine more Americans were killed and we lost another helicopter.

Attacks killed 250 Iraqis and injured 350 more in the past day.

HOW MUCH BETTER CAN THINGS IN IRAQ GET?????

If I had you in my unit you would most likely have ended up in the stockade. Everything I said in this Blog is 100% correct and I challenge you to show how this demonstrates the Bush policy is working in Iraq!

Yep, it's a disaster.

We are doing some good things over there, but I don't think anyone would argue that Iraq has become a peaceful, safe, freedom-loving democracy.

It's pretty fucked over there.

If I had been in your unit, you'd have ended up with a "live" grenade in your pocket.

Still tied to your fantasy that the surge isn't working I see. Try these on for size:

From the man on the ground...Gen Peteraeus
WWW Link

From the AP:
WWW Link

From the other side....Sen Dick Durbin [D] and the NYS:
WWW Link

So it seems a LOT of people think it's working, except you of course. You don't read much do you?

After 4 1/2 years, 3,600 dead, almost 27,000 injured and a Trillion dollars to be where we are in Iraq is a FAILURE and a DISASTER. Now the death toll from the attacks yesterday is up to 500.

WWII lasted from December 1941 to mid 1945 3 ½ years.

Another original article from gene and his defeatist attitude.  Too bad you don't take the time to look at the progress being made instead of reading headlines.

The fighting was over in 3 1/2 years. Yes we occupied both Germany and Japan but we did not see the type of violence we see in Iraq during our occupation of Germany and Japan. You are just trying to make excuses.

no it took 5 years to hunt down all of the units that refused to give up

This has NOTHING to do with attitude. It has to do with reality. 500 Killed, 350 Injured is reality. The destruction of a major bridge near Baghdad, the killing of an Iraqi Governor and the capture of a senior Oil official are facts. The facts are that GWB made two very serious mistakes which, to this day, he refuses to acknowledge.

First the strategic Error of Invading Iraq. He was warned by our most senior and knowledgeable diplomats that the likely result of invading Iraq would be to get our Military bogged down in a sectarian war. He was also told the Islamic world would look at our invasion of Iraq as occupation and would enrage them. That is JUST WHAT HPPENED!

Second, Bush compounded the strategic error of invading Iraq with the tactical error of not sending the number of troops the generals and military planners said would be needed to establish and maintain control of Iraq after we removed Saddam. Again the military was correct and Bush was DEAD WRONG. He sent our brave military on a mission without the required resources which has caused 3,700 dead and 27,000 injuries.

Bush did not have either the diplomatic of military experience or knowledge to make the choices he made in Iraq. The results are a DIRECT result of the choices BUSH MADE!!!!!

There was NOTHING like what is taking place in Iraq in Germany and Japan during our occupation. YOU ARE FULL OF BS!!!!!

Our Army is another casualty of the Iraq War.

WASHINGTON - Sapped by nearly six years of war, the Army has nearly exhausted its fighting force and its options if the Bush administration decides to extend the Iraq buildup beyond next spring.

The Army's 38 available combat units are deployed, just returning home or already tapped to go to Iraq, Afghanistan or elsewhere, leaving no fresh troops to replace five extra brigades that President Bush sent to Baghdad this year, according to interviews and military documents reviewed by The Associated Press.

guess it is a good thing that the general in charge says we don't need to do this
