Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.
Published on November 6, 2005 By COL Gene In Politics

What took place in Argentina on Friday should convince Congress to eliminate ALL spending for Bush to travel outside the United States. Every place the president has visited in the last several years has resulted in demonstrations. Every time he goes outside the United States he harms our country with the people of the world. Taxpayers spend millions of dollars to provide Bush with the transportation, security and luxuries as he travels abroad spreading unrest.

Some will say American policy has been unpopular in the past. That is certainly true, but we have never seen the extent of the outright hatred of an American president the way we see it toward George W. Bush. It is time for Bush to understand that he not helping this country by his foreign travel and for the balance of his term he should remain in the United States. The money we save by not having Bush travel abroad can be used to help people heat their houses, pay their medical bills and rebuild their homes. To continue spending millions of taxpayer dollars to have President Bush spark riots when he travels abroad, is just DUMB!

You're such a baffoon Colon Gangrene. You whine and moan that Prs. Bush doesn't do a billion things that have nothing to do with his job, then when he does do his job, you cry like a baby with a loaded diaper!! Come to think of it, from the smell, I'd say your own diaper is a few weeks late for changing.

If you really care about the wasted tax money, quit stealing the retirement checks, pay the taxpayers back for all those wasted years of you sleeping and getting stoned through what should have been your education, and while your at it, save the environment by just not breathing your foul stench into the air anymore.

Have you ever been worth the oxygen you steal with every putrid breath?

I have earned EVERY dime of any retirement I reveive. YOU know NOTHING of what I have done. Among many other things, I served my country for 30 years so scum like you can put forth the crap you do on this Blog Site.

wow last time I checked ted is not the only veteran here on joeuser that served his country, so you too can spew the nonsense you spew.

No, apparently you sat around getting stoned for 30 years, wasting seats in course after course, command after command until you could suck the taxpayer for a paycheck the rest of your pathetic existence. Some of us were careerists, you were a "LIFER" (Little Ignorant Flea Expecting Retirement). I spent most my adult life watching "officers" like you. Total wastes of the uniform, working their troops to the bone and spitting on them behind their backs. The second you took your rank off, you lost the only thing about your worth respecting (and the only thing that ever got saluted!)

You are a SAD person! My retirement was earned not a gift. My service is something you know NOTHING about. I earned every promotion in the military and in civilian life that I received. Unlike your leader, I did not get my positions from my father's contacts.
It would also be good if your comments were in line with the subject of this Blog. You use the same tactic as most of the Bushies- Attack the messinger or change the subject. NEVER address the issue!

See, COL, want it both ways. Yes, according to the numbers, that money MIGHT be saved if Bush didn't go anywhere outside the country. However, if he did stay in the US (and let everyone bash him for not performing part of his duties ... oh, yeah, those that deal in International relations), the money "saved" from that would be used to increase his traval intranationally or used for some other pork barral project.

However, regardless of the reactions, he should be visiting these other countries. It's part of his job. And he needs to do it (and be seen doing it), or folks like you will moan and groan about us paying him to do nothing and why is he not out doing part of his job?

The easiest way to cut spending? Cut all benefits to veterans. I mean, vets have already been compensated for their service. That'll save us billions, nay! It'll save us trillions. No more funding retiree healthcare through Tri-care. No more pensions for hundreds of thousands of vets. No more survivor benefits to spouses who have lost loved ones on active service. No more Veterans Administration. Save all the money paying for hte salaries for those jobs (I mean, the folks at McGuire Vets Admin hospital in Richmond can use the forced vacation). That'll save you billions every year. It's also as likely to happen as the President not doing part of his job (and the really visibile, PR infused part, at that).

Note to the terminally dense: Since JU doesn't support the"<" sarcasm "/>" tag, let this suffice. I do not endorse the ideas proposed in the previous paragraph. Although ... I might be interested in digging up the numbers to see what would be saved in FY 2006 by doing this.

I gave your article an insightful.

I can't believe the way some of the conservatives on here attack. I hope it's not all of them?

If Bush accomplished something that benefits us , I would be glad to help pay for his travel. The point is he is harming the U S with his trips. Why pay for something that causes harm?

I bet most Americans would rather use the money he spent last week to go to Argentina on helping poor people pay the higher cost to heat their homes this winter. I wonder How many could have been helped?
