Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

The commanding General of the National Guard said yesterday the National Guard does not the equipment needed to perform its basic mission because of the Iraq War. The National Guard has only 34 % of the needed equipment and much of that equipment is in not in good condition. The vast majority of the National Guard Equipment was shipped to Iraq and even when it is returned will be unusable because of the war.

What is even worse is that Bush has not taken steps to replace that equipment. The Guard has estimated it will take $15 Billion dollars and six YEARS to replace their equipment. Bush has done NOTHING to request the needed funding for this equipment.

What this will mean is that the next time the country needs the National Guard to help with a disaster, the Guard will be unable to respond properly! GREAT JOB Mr. Bush!

Another stupid post blaming Bush for everything. Why don't you start providing links or proof of your bs?

COL - could've fooled me. My brother works as a full time maitenance tech for MATES in Virginia. He's (and the other shops at that site) are complaining that they've got more equipment stored there than they have room for. In order to pull a vehicle in for maintenance, they have to spend an hour rearranging things so that they can get one particular piece into the shop.

And the equipment coming into them for repairs ... is in no worse shape than normal for National Guard equipment.

Source was CNN Today. Bush is the one that went to war. Bush is the one that did not make sure the Active Military was large enough which required the use of the Guard. Bush is NOT correcting a problem that exists and that he created. It is you that is stupid. Since when is the assessment by the Commanding General of the National Gurad BS?

Chaos Manager

Well that is NOT what the CG of the Gurad has said. A military unit that oinly has 34% of its equipment, even if it were in top condition, can not perform its mission. Most of the guard equipment is NOT in good condition. Your brother's experience is far more limited then the CG of the Guard.

Just another example of the Bush supporters not accepting the failure of this president!

Post the link col. You are known for taking things out of context.

Bush went to war with the approval of Congress, a fact you seem to overlook every chance you get.

yeah....but we all know just how much officers really know about what is going on on the ground....

Officers are like a loose tooth. Pain while you have it, but you know eventually they will get replaced

Island Dog The Link is CNN TV. How the hell do you post a link to TV? The approval by Congress was predicated on only SOME of the Intel that Bush wanted to use. That intel was dead wrong and the Intel that has been proven correct was ignored by Bush and not available to Congress PRIOR to he vote.

When the Senate Select Commiottee on Intel completes their work on the intel that was available and not considered, Bush and Cheney may be in even more trouble.

Governors have been saying the very same thing. Look at the lack of equipment and resources to deal with the Gulf storms!

Mythical Mino You are an example of the uninformed type of people that are on this Blig site. Any source,, no matter how well qualified, that shows Bush does not know what he is doing is attacked by many of the JoeUsers.

Col, you distort information to fit you hatred of Bush. So you have provided no facts.

Congress voted on the intel that Bush saw. You still haven't provided proof of that accusation either. Stop making excuses for Congress. The democrats thought Saddam was a threat and had WMD's before Bush. Keep telling yourself that. Hypocrit.

The intel issue has already been looked at and there was no distortion, or lies as you and the other liberals claim. Get over it.

That is NOT true. Congress DOES NOT get the same Intel as the President.

Congress DOES NOT get the same Intel as the President.

You are right.. they actually get more through the Select Committee on Intelligence. The president relies on executive summaries many of which are excised of their SCI content (no need to know methods and means you see).

This is how you support and argument and provide backup for it. Think about it for one second and maybe the quality of your screeds will show improvement. No charge for the lesson (how liberal of me).

Col, I have seen on tv (which is factual to you) that the Senators saw the same intel as the President. Why do you keep avoiding the question anyway? The democrats thought Saddam was a threat before Bush.

Actually, I am going by what I know. I served in the military....I know all about officers. And I think some of the worse ones are Colonels....
on Dec 13, 2005
The only people in Congress that receive about the same intel as the President are the Chairman and vice Chairman of the Senate Intel Committee. Most of the members of congress DO NOT receive the intel that Bush and Chehey receive. Why did Bush and Cheney ignore all the angencies that said the intel he was using may not be correct? Elements of the CIA, Depr of Energy and DIA all had intel that said his arguments, especially about the nuclear weapons in Iraq, were not correct. Both Bush and Cheney continued to assert Saddam had those weapons - The Mushroom Clouds over our cities. Congress was NEVER told that most of the Intel Bush and Chehey used about the WMD came from Ahmad Chalabi a convicted fellon and person that had everything to gain from our removing Saddam. Almost EVERYTHING Chalabi told the Bush Admin was a LIE.

I guess all the Governors that have said their National Guard troops lack proper equipment is also not true? Only AWOL Bush speeks the truth. What a bunch of BS!
