Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.
Time to GET OUT!
Published on May 7, 2006 By COL Gene In Politics

Within the past 24 Hours the following events have been reported:

43 Iraqis were found shot execution style.

Iraq people cheer when a British helicopter is shot down in Basra and stone the British troops attempting to reach the crash site.

Four more explosions were reported killing 17 and injuring 44 more.
We are headed for another record level of deaths in May

The atrocities we saw under Saddam are continuing the only difference is which side is inflicting the killing. The elections that were to bring stability took place four months ago and the violence continues without improvement.

It is time to allow the Iraqi people decide what is to become of Iraq. Our continued presence is NOT solving the conflict among the three factions in Iraq. All we are doing is sustaining more deaths, injuries and spending money that would be far better spent on the needs of Americans.

I side with you on this. It's getting out of hand. The OF (Occupation Forces) have not worked out a strategy to stop car bombs and human bombs, and Iraquis die daily due to this menace. I am no expert but I feel things are spiralling out of control. It is not a case of having enough men on the ground--it is having the men in the right place. And how do you do that? Then there is Basra and the British troops, once well received, now hated--let's face it, yesterday's fiasco shows us that British troops have overstayed their welcome. God knows where this is going but it is not going well.

When the going got tough (defined by Gene as one day's bad news), Gene's army would tuck tail & run. Glad he ain't in charge. He is the enemy that the terrorists are targeting, however, and they've beaten him without even touching him. Ah, the bravery of being out of range.

genes army would not be there in the first place! as his army would be modeled on the french army, one shot and a fast surrender!

A little history might help. The Army of George Washington was a rag tag outfit that fought what at that time was an unconventional type of warfare. They attacked when they should no have attacked and did not stand in line with red coats on so they were targets. WHAT HAPPENED? That rag tag army defeated the MOST POWERFUL force at the time. They were fighting for something they believed in and drove out the occupying force. Sound Familiar.

Now another small issue-- This war was not about protecting our country. It was not about a country that attacked the U.S. It was not about defeating an enemy that posed ANY real danger to our country. It was an ill conceived idea of Bush and some other misguided people in this country. Now the English have had enough of Iraq and may be the end of the British Prime Minister who was the only real foreign supporter Bush had in this war!

The Iraq War was an mistake in its conception and a mistake in the way we fought after Saddam was removed from power. Bush 41, Powell and many generals tried to warn GWB but he would not listen. Our brave military and the tax payers of this country have and will pay for this mistake of President Bush!!!!!! The Iraq War, his failure after Katrina and the way Bush has driven this country into debt will be his bitter legacy.

That analogy is so ridiculously off base, I can't believe anyone, even Gene, could think of it. The ignorance is simply breathtaking.

The war in Iraq employs unconventional tactics and is a battle between the political factions within Iraq. We are considered occupiers and the VAST majority if the 26 Million people in Iraq want the U S and others to leave. Look at the way the PEOPLE reacted in a relatively peaceful area to the British. A small number of government officials want us to say but the majority look at us as PART ON THE PROBLEM.

My analogy was to show how a smaller military using unconventional tactics can be effective. That is just what took place in 1776- 1781.

This is so sad it's not even funny. Col, you're almost out of steam. Run like the coward you are. That's all you're good at. How in the world did you even make it in the Armed Forced is beyond me.

Well I not only made it in the Military but in the private sector. I held both mid level and senior management positions and was very successful. I was successful in the profit and non profit sectors. In my last job I was the Chief Operating Officer of the third largest school dist in PA and had an operating budget of $120 Million. For over 12 years I ran the financial and operations of that district and in addition built 16 school projects for about $130 million in capital. EVERY one of those projects and EVERY budget I met my objectives and even had years where I generated a positive balance.

As to my military service, you and Bush are the cowards. He is great at sending other peoples children into harms way but when it was his time he got Daddy to get him into in the National Guard which in 68-73 was the BEST WAY to stay out of Vietnam. I was Regular Army for 4 years and the only reason I was not sent was because I was given a very sensitive assignment which I did not request. Don't you DARE call me a coward you ASS. For 30 years I was subject to defending my country and I did not ask or received any preferential treatment like Bush received!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see why you need to describe any of you things in life, I don't really care what you have done so keep this info to yourself. Real People who do good things don't go around bragging about it.

So him being the commander in chief does not give him the power to send our boys to war? That is the most rediculous statement I have ever heard.

I was Regular Army for 4 years and the only reason I was not sent was because I was given a very sensitive assignment which I did not request.

You actually posted an excuse? Are you telling me that you spent 4 years on a sensitive mission and therefor did not fight anywhere? Seems like the real coward here is you. If you really wanted to do something you could have requested it and could have been sent; instead you give an excuse. What a joke.

Don't you DARE call me a coward you ASS. For 30 years I was subject to defending my country and I did not ask or received any preferential treatment like Bush received!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Defending what? You just said you didn't go to vietnam cause you had a "sensitive mission". Gotta wonder why they felt you needed to do this sensitive mission rather than go to vietnam or was it that they felt you were not good enough to go to vietnam and sent you on a baby mission. You sicken me Col. You made a Col title that you do not deserve. BTW, if you had family in high positions, you too would have gotten special treatment, and I bet you have in one way or another, most likely in the "private sector".

BTW, name calling is for children. But after seeing your picture online, I can see why you feel the need to feel young again.

It was you that questioned what I had done outside the military. I was not bragging about anything simply stating the facts.

Only Congress has the power to declare War. What Bush did is distort the facts and made it look as if WE were in danger from Iraq when that WAS NOT TRUE. Had the facts all been on the table and the reason for invading Iraq would have been stated as to give the Iraqi people the right to select a new government, there would not have been a WAR Resolution and Bush could not have invaded Iraq. You also ignore the fact that Bush had Daddy protect him from serving in n Vietnam by getting him into the National Guard. So Bush hid out in the Guard and Cheney was a draft dodger. What a one two pair! If those two are your heroes, you are a sad excuse for an American!

Hey ASS I served two years in Europe and that is when I was a Nuclear Weapons officer. It was the policy of the military not to assign people like me with the sensitive knowledge gained from that assignment to combat. I did not do anything to avoid service in Vietnam like your President George. I also EARNED my HONORABLE DISCHARGE unlike you BOY! You have no concept of the responsibility that my assignment carried. DROP DEAD YOU SCUM!

I'm sorry but this alone proves your stupidity. Maybe you can point out WHERE THE HELL DID I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU DO OUTSIDE OF THE MILITARY YOU OLD BAG.

I would never question what you do outside the military, I would end up with millions of questions that even science can't answer.

And here you go again repeating yourself like a broken record. What, do you copy/paste those ords over and over? According to your repeatition, it seems that Congress is at fault here. They were the ones who allowed this war to happen. Regardless of what Bush did, as you claim, they had everything he had, EVERYTHING. They chose to go to war, Bush gave them the idea but they made the choice. Including the democrats. So put that in your pipe and smoke it you loon. You're so out of ammo that you couldn't hit Dick Chenney if he was point blank.

Drop dead? Isn't that against the rules in this place or something? BTW, this is still an excuse. You may have been in the military but you have no serious combat experience so you need to STFU. And I could not have earned an HONORABLE DISCHARGE cause I was never in the military, but I bet if I was I'd make it higher than you and do better cause I actually care.

Do yourself a favor and follow your own advice that you so nicely put at the end of your own reply. Cry baby.

I'm not sure what your beef is, Charles.C -

Gene has repeatedly demostrated here at JU the qualities of a born leader, able to inspire and rally troops to his cause with his cogent, sober and respectful arguments. He clearly sees the good in all people and works to channel that good for the benefit of all. I'm shocked he's not at least a Senator.

on May 08, 2006
What an idiot. I was not talking about your Honorable discharge I was talking about the one Bush 41 got for his son George.

Until you have served in the military, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.

Got screw yourself Col. I talk all I please cause I have freedom of speech. I need not to be in the military to have an opinion, so do yourself a favor and grow up. Military people are not above me, I pay your checks, I pay for your equipment. Let's get one thing straight. You military people could not exist without us civilians. So whether you like it or not we rule. Oh yea, FU.

I've had enough for one day. See you tomorrow soldier boy. Go play some dominoes and listen to some oldies and don't forget to take your vitamins.
