Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.
Published on August 12, 2007 By COL Gene In Politics

The pictures this week of the leaders of Iraq and Iran walking hand in Hand shows just how big a mistake Bush has made in Iraq. In Iraq entire neighborhoods are being cleansed of all Sunnis. The Sunni members of the Maliki cabinet have resigned and we see the Iraqi PM moving closer to the leader of Iran. This is what our invasion of Iraq has created which is a government in Iraq that is doing just what Saddam did –eliminate any opposition and we have expanded the influence of the Shiites who we have been unable to deal with in Iran for almost 50 years and who Bush claims are responsible for supplying weapons used to kill our troops.

Our policy in Iraq is a failure and it is time to get out!

BAGHDAD - Four suicide bombers hit Kurdish Yazidi communities with nearly simultaneous attacks on Tuesday, killing at least 175 people and wounding 200 others, said Iraqi military and local officials in northwest Iraq.

The death toll was the highest in a concerted attack since Nov. 23, when 215 people were killed by mortar fire and five car bombs in Baghdad's Shiite enclave of Sadr City.

The bombs tore through the districts near Qahataniya, 75 miles west of Mosul, Iraq's third-largest city, said Abdul-Rahman al-Shimiri, the top government official in the area, and Iraq army Capt. Mohammed Ahmed.

They said at least 30 homes were destroyed in the bombings.

YES The SURGE is WORKING:

Ah yes, once again gene celebrates a car bombing.  If you take a peek around gene, you will see even liberals are agreeing the surge is working.  Of course you already decided we have lost, so nothing matters to you anyway.

You are an A**. I want to END the killing of our troops in that useless war. The facts on the GROUND have DECIDED the Surge is a failure. It was intended to give the Iraqi Government the time to deal with the political issues which is NOT taking place. The violence in the areas where we have sent more troops is less but the violence has just moved to areas where there was NO fighting before the Surge. Yesterday was the WORST day of the WAR!!!!! Look at the results-- 9 Americans dead. 215 Iraqi dead and another 200 injured. A major bridge in Baghdad destroyed. This is a NEVER ENDING mistake that we must end!

4 Suicide Bombings Kill 200 in Iraq

BAGHDAD - Rescuers dug through the muddy wreckage of collapsed clay houses in northwest Iraq on Wednesday, uncovering victims of four suicide bombings that Iraqi officials said killed at least 200 people in one of the worst attacks of the war.The victims were members of a small Kurdish sect - the Yazidis - sometimes attacked by Muslim extremists who consider them infidels.

Four suicide truck bombers struck nearly simultaneously on Tuesday, killing more people than any other concerted attack since Nov. 23, when 215 people were killed by mortar fire and five car bombs in Baghdad's Shiite Muslim enclave of Sadr City.

It was most vicious attack yet against the Yazidis, an ancient religious community in the region. Some 300 people were wounded in the blasts, said Dakhil Qassim, the mayor of the nearby town of Sinjar.

Qassim said the four trucks approached the town of Qahataniya, 75 miles west of Mosul, Iraq's third-largest city, from dirt roads and all exploded within minutes of each other. He said the casualty tolls were expected to rise.

Um...no.  You have decided that.  Even liberals and democrats are now acknowledging the success.

LOL.  You are a defeatist, plain and simple.  Even the liberal NYT wrote about the successes in the surge, why is it so hard for you to acknowledge anything good?  All you do is put your hands over your ears and scream "look how bad it is", all the while IGNORING anything that shows you different.

200 dead and 200 injured in one day and the destruction of a major bridge can not be ignored. The capture of an oil minister and the killing of a regional governor can not be ignored. The breakdown in the Maliki government can not be ignored. THESE THINGS OVERSHADOW ANY SMALL ONCLAVES OF POSITIVE PROGRESS.

according to fox news al quida type attacks are down 50%

so who is ignoring it.

this is the same kind of crap you tried to sell when the bridge here in the US fell. that it wouldn't be fixed because all of the money went to Iraq.

That is good. However the overall violence and killing is not less and the political issues are going no ware. Last month was the second largest number of Iraqi Deaths for the entire war and this month may be even worse. The violence is shifting from the areas where we are applying more troops to areas that have been quiet for years. That is not solving the violence just shifting it. Like I said Iraq is a giant game of “Whack a Mole"

For someone who only reads the headlines, and has a completely one-sided view, sure it is.  Try expanding your narrow view and your obsessive hatred of Bush once and while and you might see things differently.

What the Hell does 200 dead, 200 injured, destruction of a major bridge, death of an Iraqi governor and the second largest number of Iraqis killed have to do with hatred of Bush or the headlines? This is what is going on in Iraq NOW!

Now the Iraqi deaths have jumped to 250 with 350 injured.

At Least 250 Dead After Iraq Blasts

BAGHDAD - Emergency workers and grieving relatives uncovered dozens of bodies in the wreckage of clay houses in northwest Iraq on Wednesday, sending the death toll from suicide truck bombings of a small Kurdish sect to at least 250 - the war's deadliest attack on a single area.

A U.S. general said the nearly simultaneous strikes against the Yazidis - who have been attacked by Muslim extremists who consider them infidels - was an act of "ethnic cleansing." An American military spokesman blamed the attack on al-Qaida.

Zayan Othman, the health minister of the nearby autonomous Kurdish region, said the casualty toll had risen to at least 250 killed and 350 wounded as bodies were pulled from the rubble. That surpassed the death toll of 215 people from mortar fire and five car bombs in Baghdad's Shiite Muslim enclave of Sadr City on Nov. 23.
