Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

Between March 2001 and 9/10/2001 George Tenet brought warnings to the White House, Rice and the Security Council that al-Qaeda was planning an attack on the United States. He documents those warnings in his book, At the CENTER of the STORM. Many of these warnings were given a 100% confidence rating by the CIA. In every warning, the CIA said these attacks were being planned by bin Laden and al-Qaeda. There was NO involvement of Saddam or Iraq. The CIA also documented that it was bin Laden and al-Qaeda that had been responsible for the 1st attack on Twin Towers, the Marine Barracks and the Cole. Again there was NO involvement of Iraq or Saddam of those attacks.

Prior to 9/11 Bush and the entire Security Council which was lead by Rice did NOTHING to act on the many CIA warnings that Tenet himself warned about.

It is one thing to be unaware of a possible attack and quite another to IGNORE the warnings from the agency that is charged with proving intelligence to the President and the Security Council. For Bush and Rice to not act on warnings brought from the Director of the CIA is CRIMINAL. No one can say that if Bush and Rice had acted on the warnings that 9/11 would not have happened. But to IGNOIRE these warnings is dereliction of duty on the part of Bush and Rice.

After 9/11 and the confirmation by the CIA that the attack on 9/11 was conducted by bin Laden and al-Qaeda, Bush attacks Iraq who had NOTHING to do with 9/11 or the other attacks on our country! Bush and Rice had the responsibility to PROTECT this country and to ignore the specific warnings from the CIA Director is criminal. Both should be IMPEACHED for their failure to act on those warnings and do all they could to protect America!

Better look again. I never blamed Bush for, "any and all types of disasters". I have acknowledged that many of the issues that we are facing were present when Bush took office.

what ones haven't you blamed bush for.

“What ones haven't you blamed bush for?”

Here are the More Important ones:

Social Security and Medicare funding issue-- the problem is Bush suggested a change to Social Security that made the problem of paying the benefits to the Boomers worse and added the prescription drug plan to Medicare without paying for the added cost. Thus Bush did not cause these two problems but has in the case of Social security done NOTHING and for Medicare has made the existing problem much worse.

Bush did not create the illegal immigration problem but has done NOTHING to solve the problem. He does not enforce the existing laws to protect the border and go after employers that hire illegals.

He did not create the trade problem. However he expanded a trade policy that had failed for 8 Years before he took office and has made the problem he inherited twice as big of a problem.

Bush did not cause 9/11 but attacked a country that had NOTHING to do with 9/11 and has not finished dealing with the country where 9/11 was planned. He has diverted the majority of our assets to fighting a war we van not win in a country that when we invaded had NOTHING to do the war on terrorism. He enabled al-Qaeda to set up operations in Iraq.

He did create the unbalanced budget problem. The budget was balanced when he took over and has added $4 Trillion to the debt!

The poor performance in Public Education existed before Bush and he did NOTHING to improve it.

Bush did not cause Katrina but failed to deal with the devastation of that storm.

Bush did not cause the infrastructure to crumble but he has done NOTHING to deal with this problem.

HE HAS SHOWN A TOTAL LACK OF LEADERSHIP!!!!!

He did not create the trade problem

Bush did not cause 9/11

The poor performance in Public Education existed before Bush

Bush did not cause Katrina

Bush did not cause the infrastructure to crumble

He has not done ANYTHING to solve any of the above problems. He has not provided LEADERSHIP!
on Aug 25, 2007
so he didn't cause these problems but it is his fault that nothing has been done about them.

one more time. WHICH ONES HAVE YOU NOT BLAMED ON BUSH.

"one more time. WHICH ONES HAVE YOU NOT BLAMED ON BUSH."

Are you just to dumb to be able to read? I said I did not blame Bush for ANY of the items I listed. That does not mean they are not serious issues that need solutions. Bush has done NOTHING to solve or improve ANY on these items. In fact they have gotten worse during his term as President. That is because is lacks effective leadership. Add the issues Bush did create like Iraq and the deficit and you have a president that has failed to meet his responsibilities to this country! He is a DISMNAL FAILURE!!!!!!!!

CORREECT. I do not blame Bush for creating the problems I listed but I do say he did nothing to deal with them. We do not elect a President to take up space but to resolve the problems facing our country. That is LEADERSHIP. Bush failed Totally to LEAD!
on Aug 25, 2007
Bush did nothing to protect us before 9/11 even though he was given many warnings by the CIA Director that we were to be attacked. He failed his most basic responsibility to protect America!
on Aug 25, 2007
shall we talk about the warnings

al queda is going to attack sometime on sept. 11th 2001.

ok now what is the president supposed to do.

If you read the warnings that are documented by Tenet and you look at the fact that Bush and Rice did nothing you will understand they both failed to do their job to protect our country. As I said:

It is one thing to be unaware of a possible attack and quite another to IGNORE the warnings from the agency that is charged with proving intelligence to the President and the Security Council. again you fail to answer my question

and the security council is united nations not united states.

the only dereliction of duty is yours.

if those 19 people had been arrested before 9/11. the mainstream media and the democrats would have called bush a racist and tried to impeach him on that. since that is a crime in the usa.

The National Security Council headed by Rice is the principal security agency of the U.S.

Let’s take a look at some of the warnings Bush and Rice ignored and failed to act upon to protect our country.

All this is from At the CENTER of the STORM by George Tenet. I sight to page for each warning. The material in Quotes is the exact text and anything in parentheses is what I have added.

P 136.

“On Jan 13, 2000 (7 days before Bush took office) John McLaughlin, Jim Pavill and Tenet briefed Pres Elect Bush, Cheney and Andy Card. “We told them that out biggest concerns were Terrorism, Proliferation and China. I don’t recall Iraq coming up at all.”

P 138

“ The Vice President’s presence may also have had an unintended chilling effect on the free flow of views as important policy matters were debated.”

P 139

“The Pakistanis always knew more then they were telling us and they had been singularly uncooperative in helping us run these guys (al-Qaeda) down.”

p. 143

“On January 25, 2001 Dick Clark sent a memo to Condi Rice saying there was an urgent need for an NSC Principals Meeting to review his strategy against al-Qaeda”. ( This meeting was never held)

P143

“If we were going to switch from defense to an offensive posture against the Terrorists, we need new covert action authority.” (One of the issued was permission to use the new Predator equipped with the hell Fire Missile from President Bush. Tenet tried over and over again to get Bush to enable the CIA to use this new system).

P 144

“Feb 2001 Usama Bin Ladin and his global network of Lieutenants and associates remain the most immediate and serious threat, Tenet told Rice.”

P 145

“During the spring of 2001, at one of the innumerable Deputies meetings John McLaughlin expressed frustration at the lack of action.”

P145

“May 30, 2001 meeting with Condi Rice Rich (would not further identify) ran through the mounting signs f a coming attack. They were truly frightening.”

P. 149

“On June 28, 2001 we had more then ten specific pieces of intelligence about impending attacks… the intelligence was both unprecedented and virtually 100% reliable. Over the last three to five months we had been witness to never-before seen efforts by Ayman al-Zawahiri to prepare terrorists operations.”

P 149

“All around the Moslem world important operatives were disappearing while others were preparing for martyrdom.”

P. 150-152

“July10, 2001 a meeting with Rice. There will be a significant terrorist attack in the coming weeks or months! The signs were unmistakable. The attack will be spectacular Rich told Condi and the others and it will be designed to inflict mass casualties against U.S. Facilities.”

P153

“At the conclusion of the July 10th meeting Condi looked at Cofer and asked, what should we do? Cofer responded this country needs to go on a war footing now!” ( Nothing changed after this meeting In addition the Bush administration kept the very existence of this meeting secret even from the 9/11 Commission The commission and the public did not learn of this July 10th meeting until the Fall of 2006 when the Press learned of the meeting and the dire warning that was ignored by Bush and Rice).

P 156

“On July 24, 2001 King Abdullah of Jordan sent word (to Bush) in his view Bin Laden and his command structure must be dealt with in a decisive and military fashion. He offered to send two battalions of Jordanian Special Forces to go door-to-door in Afghanistan” (Bush took no action).

Page 158-159

“August 6, 2001 the Presidential daily Brief (PDB) entitled, Bin Laden determined to strike in the U.S.” (No action resulted from this PDB)

P 160

“September 4, 2001 (7 days before 9/11) meeting with Rice and Rumsfeld and others was dominated by the same subject and the issue of Bush approving the use of the weaponized Predator Drone” (Bush did not act on this request until a week AFTER 9/11)

There's nothing like a liberal use of CAPITAL LETTERS and underlining and bolding of points to help make ones case.

I mean, I wasn't convinced before of the evils of Bush but then with Gene's charges in all caps, how can you refute that?

on Aug 26, 2007
gene with all of that crap that you copied. there is nothing there that bush could have done to make the USA safer or stop 9/11. that date isn't even talked about.

so the CIA wanted to be able to attack someone without permission first.

and again you did not answer my question.

what was the president supposed to do specifically to stop 9/11 from happening.
