Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.
Published on November 5, 2007 By COL Gene In Politics

In the past I have concentrated the major policies on the Bush Administration. This Blog will document some lesser choices made by Bush and enacted into law by the GOP controlled Congress from 2001-2007.

Bush cut funding for the IRS which has REDUCED the number of agents at a time when we need to insure we collect all the taxes due under existing law to reduce the budget deficit.

Bush cut funding for Social Security staffing and the number of the staff has fallen at a time when the work load has begun to increase.

Bush has cut the staffing at the FDA and Product Safety Commission at a time when imports are skyrocketing and the need for these inspectors has never been greater. It is also in the face of several years of increased examples where dangerous products have been allowed to come into our country.

Bush has not requested the added staffing for border guards six years after 9/11.

Bush has cut funding for cancer research for the past three years.

Given what is needed I can not see any possible justification for ANY of the above actions by the Bush Administration. Congress allowed these totally improper actions to take place by blindly passing the Bush budgets year after year. In addition, the manpower for our military should have been increased starting before we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan which demanded MORE troops that Bush simply failed to request. Again Congress failed to act and went along with Bush and we are now faced with a very serious manpower shortage in both the Army and Marine Corps.

It's amazing that after all this time that Gene doesn't know how to use the quote feature still.

Maybe if you create a quote button with the words "push if you hate Bush" under it, he can be trained.

The tax increases MUST come from those that can afford it and from the people that got the big windfall from the Bush tax Cuts!

How do you know who can and cannot afford more taxes. Again you assume that the rich don't have major problems like someone on cancer or needing a heart transplant. Or replacing a building that just blew up.

The proposal from the ways and means committee is a 4.5% surtax for incomes ABOVE $500,000. I KNOW anyone with income at that level can afford to pay a little more tax!

Which would have still happened regardless. Maybe if we cut medicaid we could get these people back?

If we just took back the tax cuts to the top 10% we could afford a lot of things we need a lot more then the tax cut to the wealthy!

Hooray. Not the government's job to do medical research.

DROP DEAD YOU ASS! It is also not our business to be in Iraq!

Punish the rich and make them pay for everything.  Real smart idea there gene.

Once again you keep using this "we" term, but you aren't the one willing to pay for it.

No they gave Bush the authority to invade Iraq as a last resort. Bush immediately invaded Iraq. 5 years later look where we are!

This is not about punishment. It is about paying for what we are spending and asking those who can afford it and who got the big Bucks from the Bush tax cuts to end the giveaway that we can not afford. There was no SURPLUS to return as Bush claimed and therefore the tax cuts must end to the Rich.

The Surplus must be at the same place as the WMD in Iraq!

Bush tax cuts to end the giveaway that we can not afford.

Reduction in taxes is not a giveaway gene.  Are you seriously just jealous of people who are successful?  Stop telling everyone else what they can "afford" to do.  Why don't you tell the lowers classes they can't afford the useless things the keep buying?

You really should go live in a socialist country.
