you may have an all dollar store in the area where you can lights for 1 dollar each. we have one about 5 blocks from us. yes i know we got lucky.

There are tons of them here. Don't use them much, their products are way too cheap. I may wanna save a few bucks but I would like my purchases to last a little longer than 4 days. I have never seen those kinds of light bulbs at dollar stores though. Not sure they would be worth it though. I'm cheap, but not that cheap.

This just confirms how stupid you are. I have not had a credit card in 10 years and I still buy in places like Best Buy, Walmart, Sears and JC Penny's.

But in the end you are an idiot if you blame Bush for the stupidity of the average American who spends their money and that of credit card companies unwisely. This is something that has been going on for ages, way before Bush was even Governor. And I still don't know bad economy you are talking about, I see more new cars on the streets every day, I see stores full 24/7, statistics show online sales will exceed last year by several millions and store sales are up as well.

The only real problem in this country is the lack of education towards the value of a dollar. People come to this country looking for the American dream but they seem to think that means making millions in 1 week. But of course that's all Bush's fault right? My point exactly. And a couple of months doesn't sound very appealing. Besides, how often does one remember to change light bulbs unless they actually burn out? lol

My experience with the cheaper compact flourescents is that they aren't worth it. What I would recommend for the "cheapskate" is, buy a couple of GOOD quality compact flourescents on sale (WalMart's a pretty good source for them, provided you don't buy the cheapest ones there) and replace the bulbs in your house as they burn out. You'll be amazed at the energy savings.

Compact flourescents don't burn out; they fade away, and the cheaper ones fade away faster than the pricier ones, so you're not getting much value out of the cheaper bulbs. Buy the ones rated for 5 or 7 years, though, and you'll soon find yourself struggling to remember the last time you had to change a lightbulb.

Last night Hardball had the results of the most recent polls and they clearly show the economy is not the most important issue for voters. In addition 57% of those polled say the economy is already in a recession. Look at what the Stock Market did when the Fed only cut interest rates 1/4 of a point when the street was expecting a 1/2 point cut- 300 point drop in the Dow and corresponding drop in the market overall.

The Bush plan to help homeowners ignores all that have already defaulted and most experts say his plan only addresses about 250,000 potential homeowners when the total that have defaulted are in the millions and another 2 million are in danger of failing in 2008. His plan is a DROP in the BUCKET.

If the economy is in recession in October 2008 or the majority feels it is in recession, the GOP had better pack their bags. Any Recession in 2008 will be the Bush/GOP recession and not the most rabid conservative can blame this one on Clinton!

The choice to spend is not the fault of Bush. The issue is that the economy is generating jobs that pay far less then in the past and wage growth is not keeping up with inflation. That helps drive people into more debt which can adversely impact the economy. Gas and home heating oil prices is a good example. These are things that a person must buy and is taking more and more of their current income. That means they turn to their credit cards to help make up the difference. Bush and the GOP have done NOTHING to deal with the energy issues and gas prices have doubled since Bush took over and home heating oil is almost 3 times higher then in 2000. This is an example of a problem that Bush inherited that his policies did not solve but made WORSE!

That is NOT what ALL the other polls show and it is not what the Mortgage situation shows. If you think the economy is doing well for the vast MAJORITY, you are living on a different planet! When the average family runs out of money before the end on the month they KNOW there is a problem. Bush nor the people he surrounds himself with have had that problem and have no appreciation or policy to deal with what is important to the average American!

I said nothing of the sort. What I said and what is true - the PRICE of gas has doubled and the PRICE of home heating oil has almost tripled since Bush took office. WHAT I said is the Bush policies to deal with the energy problems he inherited have done NOTHING to resolve those problems and they have gotten much worse during the past 7 years!
