Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

President Bush will be the first president to attend the funeral of a pope. How ironic that our president should choose to honor Pope John Paul II since the pope so fundamentally disagreed with the Bush policies.

With the exceptions of gay marriage and abortion, President Bush and the pope had very little in common. They disagreed on the death the death penalty, the Iraq war and the social programs embraced by Bush and his conservative supporters. Politics does in fact make strange bed fellows.

I never said most want a socialict health care system. They do however, want health care. The cost to provide that from after tax income for the average and low income workers is preventing coverage. Also fewer and fewer employers are paying part or all of the cost and the result is more people do not have coverage. Nothing Bush is talking about addresse this problem! In addition, he pushed Social Security when the far greater problem is with Medicare and Medicade.

I'm sorry, I can't let this ignorance pass. What is your problem with Bush attending the Pope's funeral? What GW isn't good enough to attend? If you lived close enough would *you* have attended? Who the hell cares if it's ever been done before. That means exactly what in the grand scheme of things.
