Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

Tens of thousands in Baghdad and Ramadi chant "NO, NO to Satan" , burned American Flags along with cutouts of Bush, Saddam and Blair as American soldiers watch from behind concrete and barbed wire barriers. What a sad demonstration after the death of over 1,500 Americans, 35,000 injuries and $300 Billon dollars. Bush should be proud of the feeling shown by the Iraq people to the war he brought to their country. Where is the reception of thanks we were told would take place after we removed Saddam? Rather then thanks, our president is put on the same level as Saddam who we removed from power and our flag is burned while our military is forced to watch. It is time to leave this rat hole of a country!

This blog was NOT about WMD but about how the people of Iraq looked at the War. We were told that America would be considered liberators. Nothing is further from the truth!

As usual you are completely wrong. Talk to soldiers that will tell you how many Iraqis appreciate what was done, and how they are still being thanked today.

The cost est and the paying for the war came out of the DoD.

I agree you cannot predict everything that will happen in war. However almost everything that was predicted about this war was incorrect. The reason we went to war, the reception we received, the duration and the amount of money and lives in has cost. If the American people had known what the cost and consequences of this war would have been, Congress nor the American people would never have approved this invasion in which as many Iraqis have died as Saddam Hussein killed. I am sure there are people who are glad he is gone but they are not pleased we occupy Iraq. we have created more enemies in the Muslim world by our invading Iraq than almost anything else we could have done.

If Congress in the late 1930s would have know about Perial Harbor or Hitler’s Death camps, would they have prevented the military build up that Roosevelt requested so hard?

If Congress had known what can of worms they released with the Gulf of Tompkins accord in the 1960s.....

Senators don't have crystal balls. Personally, I don't think the Congress has any authority in the Constitution in regard to police actions anyway. Only in the financing of such actions, after the fact. Even if they don’t finance the action later, that does not prevent the President from getting the money out of hide (like Clinton stripped the military for years to cover the Balkans). The war powers act is a laugh and would be called un-constitutional in a heart beat if challenged.

But after Pres. Truman assisted South Korea in the 50s everybody thinks Congress should have some find of Veto power.

--didn't he get 60 days [can't think of the technical name] its where the president has sixty[or 30,etc...] to take care of the threat with military force before he has to get a declaration of war...
