Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

Last Wednesday, circuit Judge Thomas Barkdull III, handed some of Rush Limbaugh’s medical records to Palm Beach prosecutors, ending his 19 month battle to keep his medical records from being used to determine if he illegally obtained prescription drugs. Limbaugh, obtained four prescriptions from four different doctors during the same period of time for prescription narcotics. He is an admitted drug addict and the delivery of some of his medical records to the Palm Beach prosecutor by the court should provide the information needed to charge him with, “doctor shopping”.

Rush had a banner week after he repeated the idiotic statements of the Mayor of London who said the attack on London 7/7 /2005 “didn’t succeed in doing anything”. The reason Rush Limbaugh repeated that ridiculous statement is to make light about the concern that the war on terrorism is not going well. The Islamic terrorist group claiming responsibility made it clear it was in retaliation for the British actions in Iraq. This whole concept that the war in Iraq is helping fight in the war on terrorism has been shown to be a farce with the London attack of 7/7. What is true is that the Iraq war has made the war on terrorism more intense and has provided yet another location for Islamic militants, who hate us, a place to train for future attacks. For Rush Limbaugh to repeat that an attack which brought the transportation system in London to a stop and either killed or injured a thousand people accomplished nothing shows the extent to which this ideologue will go to make it look as if the policies of the right are succeeding.

Last week was also a big week for another right wing conservative giant, Karl Rove who was finally identified as the person in the White House that revealed that Valerie Plame was a CIA agent. This was after her husband, Ambassador Wilson debunked the Bush claim that Saddam Hussein had attempted to buy yellow cake uranium in Africa. At the time Mrs Plame’s name was revealed in the Bob Novak article, President Bush pledged the full support of his administration to find out who perpetrated the illegal act of identifying a CIA agent’s name. He directed his staff to fully cooperate with the FBI to determine the name of this person. Evidently Karl Rove must not have gotten that instruction of the president.

It is now time for both Rove and Limbaugh to face the music. They should both be charged and tried in court. To ignore Limbaugh’s obtaining illegal drugs through doctor shopping or Karl Rove’s illegal act of outing the name of a CIA agent, would be 100% WRONG. We cannot allow these right wing ideologues who either help make policy or influence people with their radio program to not face the same consequences as other Americans who break our laws. Please do not tell me neither Rove or Limbaugh have been convicted. The issue is to bring them to trial and determine their GUILT or INNOCENCE!

It will be very telling of George W. Bush as to what he will do now that Karl Rove has been identified by one of the reporters as the person who released the name of our CIA agent. Although Bush cannot cover it up like Nixon in Watergate, the question is will the Bush administration support Rove being charged and brought to court or if he’s found guilty will Bush pardon him for breaking the law that Bush himself said was a serious offense. As for Rush Limbaugh, his 20 million listeners every day need to understand that their right-wing guru is subject to the same laws and penalties for breaking the laws as everyone else. Last week very definitely documented the values of these two influential right wingers in America. They have shown total disdain for our laws and for the values that has made this country great. It is time for Rove and Limbaugh to face the music.

Hey Col.....when are you going to get it? Plame is a "self-professed" analyst! She said exactly that to Time magazine during her interview. That being the case, whether Rove did or did not do it is immaterial. Since she's an analyst not an agent, outing her like they did is NOT illegal!

I see you only believe in the judicial system of "presumed innocent" only good for your weak kneed anti-american liberal bretheren.

Instead of wasting my time and giving myself (worse) carpal tunnel, here's a link to my response:

Contrast Rove and Wilson.

I just have to wonder where the Col's outrage was when Wilson was abusing his "intelligence" work for the Bush administration, lying to the press as an "anonymous" source, and converting the job his wife got him into a role in the Kerry campaign?

Which is worse, mentioning that some guy's wife got him the CIA job, or helping start a war, and then jumping sides and distorting intelligence to torpedo your ex-boss, only later to be caught in all the lies you told? The Col most certainly picks and chooses where to place his outrage about "intelligence" irregularities.

First col, you are showing your true self again. Why are you putting Rove and Rush together anyways. We are talking about two entirely separate things here. However, you are once again showing you are nothing but a left wing lunatic that cares about nothing than persecuting the right.

Last week was also a big week for another right wing conservative giant, Karl Rove who was finally identified as the person in the White House that revealed that Valerie Plame was a CIA agent.

Rove never gave a name, and Plame was not a CIA agent. How many times does that have to be told to you before you get that? No name, no crime.

Spoken like a true left wing lunatic. People must be held accountable col, but only if they are conservatives, right?

Col, where was your outrage and when did you demand justice for this person?

I'll go along with that! Can you answer the question col?
on Jul 11, 2005

Another red herring from Col Klink.

Col, let me splain a few things to you.

#1: You say Rove was the leak.  Link?

#2: You say Plame was a covert Agent. Link?

#3: You already convicted Rush of Doctor Shopping.  Why have you more proof than the DA does WITH his medical records?

IN short, you are about american as Bin Laden.  At least Bin Laden knows who he is.  You are just another washed up has been trying to out smart Col Hogan and being whipped every time.

And this article is just a waste of space at JU.

First, I included Rove and Limbaugh because they are both right wing ideologues who have shown their true colors and there is evidence to charge them with a fellony and let the legal system judge if they are guilty or innocent.

The issue of outing the name of CIA Agent, Valerie Plame as being a crime has been established and even President Bush admitted that it was a serious crime when he instructed his staff to cooperate with the FBI investigation.

Berger had his day in court which is what needs to happen with Rove and Limbaugh.

The issue with both these individuals is very clear. There are accusations and evidence that these two individuals may have committed serious crimes and the evidence should go to a grand jury. The issue of Valerie Plame being a covert CIA agent has nothing to do with the issue at hand . Face it Bushies, it is time for the legal system to be applied to Rove and Limbaugh. If they are innocent fine. If they're guilty they should go to jail. To ignore what both of these people have been accused of because they are and right-wing ideologues, is not acceptable!

"The issue of Valerie Plame being a covert CIA agent has nothing to do with the issue at hand ."

Nope. If she wasn't a covert agent then it wasn't a crime. If he didn't give her name, or if he didn't know she was a covert agent, it wasn't a crime. If he said what he SAYS he says, i.e. "Wilson only got that job because his wife works for the CIA", then, frankly, it wasn't a crime. If the reporters dug up her name and posted it, then they are the ones who revealed her name.

" To ignore what both of these people have been accused of because they are and right-wing ideologues, is not acceptable!"

The day that I see you judge the bad and the good of the Democratic party, I'll take that line seriously. There's no one on JU that is more blindly partisan than you. Period.
on Jul 11, 2005
Very nicely worded thread and I have to say it reeks of logic. I find it odd there is even a debate over this doctor shopping thing. But the icing is the way Limbach made several statements about addicts who happened to be Democrats. The man is a druggie who cannot be trusted. It's the pills which makes him think Gitmo is a lovely resort. Again good statement.

" It's the pills which makes him think Gitmo is a lovely resort. Again good statement."

Don't you DARE talk about gitmo when you try and paint holocaust concentration camps as not being as bad as we think. Speaking of pills, have you had your meds today? Jeez, the gall of a holocaust revisionist championing poor Gitmo inmates makes me want to puke.

You have already convicted them both.

That wasn't the question col. Where was your outrage and demand for justice before?
on Jul 11, 2005
The point is that Rove and Limbaugh should be treated the same as Berger and Clinton. Let the courts and our legal system determine if Rove and or Limbaugh are innocent or guilty. The outrage would be to do nothing about the serious charges. Why did Pres Bush confirm that the indetification of Valerie Plame was a serious matter and instructed his staff to FULLY Cooperate with the FBI investigation? You can not have it both ways. If Bush said it was a serious matter before Rove was identified as the source it is still serious now that his political advisor is the source. We have some great people working for the Bush administration! Just think your tax dollars are paying this guy!

You keep avoiding the question col. Where was your outrage and where were your posts about demanding justice for Berger? Will you just admit that you are a left wing fanatic and the democrats should get a pass?

Do you have any evidence that his staff hasn't cooperated?

You answer your question and then answer it. The INVESTIGATION is a serious matter. I don't mean to presume to teach you the law, but an investigation is meant to see if a crime has been committed, in addition to seeing who may have committed it. In this case, no one really knows, thus, an investigation.

It's pretty obvious that you have already made up your mind, since you call Rush's drugs "illegal", when in fact he had prescriptions. Also:

"This was after her husband, Ambassador Wilson debunked the Bush claim that Saddam Hussein had attempted to buy yellow cake uranium in Africa."

is an out-and-out lie, given the 9-11 commission blew holes in Mr. Wilson's testimony, found that he had lied to investigators, lied to the press as an anonymous source, and that his report actually BOLSTERED the idea that Iraq had attempted to purchase uranium. The report came out a year ago, and I guess the last thing you'd want to do is read it...

So, Rove said "That guy got his job because his wife works at the CIA." The man you laud lied under oath, lied to the press, abusing his position leaking information to the press for his own political gain, and was completely debunked himself by an official Congressional committee.

Wanna talk about blind partisan garbage? No, you really shouldn't.
