Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

Last Wednesday, circuit Judge Thomas Barkdull III, handed some of Rush Limbaugh’s medical records to Palm Beach prosecutors, ending his 19 month battle to keep his medical records from being used to determine if he illegally obtained prescription drugs. Limbaugh, obtained four prescriptions from four different doctors during the same period of time for prescription narcotics. He is an admitted drug addict and the delivery of some of his medical records to the Palm Beach prosecutor by the court should provide the information needed to charge him with, “doctor shopping”.

Rush had a banner week after he repeated the idiotic statements of the Mayor of London who said the attack on London 7/7 /2005 “didn’t succeed in doing anything”. The reason Rush Limbaugh repeated that ridiculous statement is to make light about the concern that the war on terrorism is not going well. The Islamic terrorist group claiming responsibility made it clear it was in retaliation for the British actions in Iraq. This whole concept that the war in Iraq is helping fight in the war on terrorism has been shown to be a farce with the London attack of 7/7. What is true is that the Iraq war has made the war on terrorism more intense and has provided yet another location for Islamic militants, who hate us, a place to train for future attacks. For Rush Limbaugh to repeat that an attack which brought the transportation system in London to a stop and either killed or injured a thousand people accomplished nothing shows the extent to which this ideologue will go to make it look as if the policies of the right are succeeding.

Last week was also a big week for another right wing conservative giant, Karl Rove who was finally identified as the person in the White House that revealed that Valerie Plame was a CIA agent. This was after her husband, Ambassador Wilson debunked the Bush claim that Saddam Hussein had attempted to buy yellow cake uranium in Africa. At the time Mrs Plame’s name was revealed in the Bob Novak article, President Bush pledged the full support of his administration to find out who perpetrated the illegal act of identifying a CIA agent’s name. He directed his staff to fully cooperate with the FBI to determine the name of this person. Evidently Karl Rove must not have gotten that instruction of the president.

It is now time for both Rove and Limbaugh to face the music. They should both be charged and tried in court. To ignore Limbaugh’s obtaining illegal drugs through doctor shopping or Karl Rove’s illegal act of outing the name of a CIA agent, would be 100% WRONG. We cannot allow these right wing ideologues who either help make policy or influence people with their radio program to not face the same consequences as other Americans who break our laws. Please do not tell me neither Rove or Limbaugh have been convicted. The issue is to bring them to trial and determine their GUILT or INNOCENCE!

It will be very telling of George W. Bush as to what he will do now that Karl Rove has been identified by one of the reporters as the person who released the name of our CIA agent. Although Bush cannot cover it up like Nixon in Watergate, the question is will the Bush administration support Rove being charged and brought to court or if he’s found guilty will Bush pardon him for breaking the law that Bush himself said was a serious offense. As for Rush Limbaugh, his 20 million listeners every day need to understand that their right-wing guru is subject to the same laws and penalties for breaking the laws as everyone else. Last week very definitely documented the values of these two influential right wingers in America. They have shown total disdain for our laws and for the values that has made this country great. It is time for Rove and Limbaugh to face the music.

Rove lied and that is not a Federal crime but it is not what we should expect from those that help set policy for the US. The law concerning the outing of CIA Agents is so complex that it is easy to see how Rove "could" not have violated ALL the provisions of the law. That does not change two years of telling us that he had NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS CASE! He lied and as I have said either Bush believed him and was fooled or Bush is also not telling the truth. In any event, it is TIME FOR ROVE TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is also time to make sure Bob Novak come clean!

Lied? Lied about "what", EXACTLY? And BTW Rove's going NOWHERE! Here I'll state it again for those of you with poor reading comprehension:

There was enough of a case for the CIA to go to the Justice Dept and a SP was appointed and an FBI investigation was started.

Maybe, but the prosecutor says Rove is not the target of the investigation.

And for those of you who can't comprehend that. What he's saying is that "ROVE" did NOTHING wrong!

He lied when he and Bush said he had nothing to do with the Plame outing . For two years they have been telling the American People that story. He did talk with Cooper and most likely Novak about the fact the Wilson's wife was a CIA Agent. His lawyer admitted it and there are the Cooper E-Mails that PROVE Rove did have somehting to do with the Plame outing. You Bushies are so use to being lied to you do not even see a bold faced lie when it looks you in the face.

You just don't get it do you??? Are you being stupid on purpose? You say he lied, okay where's your proof? Awful funny thing is that the prosecutor does not think he lied! So now what? Do you think the proecutor is stupid? Nothing is going to happen to him. When they let him go I'M going to laugh my butt off while you guys go cry in your milk!

This is so Alice-in-Wonderland. Gene just can't accept that there are innocent subtleties to these things - the world is either black or white to him. I reiterate, Rove had no reason to believe he had "anything to do with" outting Plame (so why wouldn't he say so), did not know her role at the CIA other than that a couple of reporters said she worked there in some capacity, long ago gave a waiver to any & all reporters he had spoken with to reveal the nature of their conversations on this subject to the grand jury, and testified truthfully to the grand jury three times. These actions do not betray a guilty mindset and do not represent the behavior of a man trying to cover anything up. Furthermore, his actions and truthfulness appear to have passed muster with the special prosecutor.

Gene and a bunch of other zealots are trying to stir up a tempest in a teapot, doing their damnedest to invent some high crime out of thin air - fortunately, most of us are just shaking our heads in disgust. Until the grand jury hands down indictments, if any, this is nothing more than a political circus act, and a bad one at that. Could it be they're afraid that if they don't "get" him now, before he's officially cleared, they may never have another chance? They must not like their odds, or they wouldn't be frothing at the mouth like this, trying to deny Rove what they demand for the Gitmo detainees, abandoning the principle of "innocent until proven guilty" altogether.

Cheers,
Daiwa

"What it says is, Karl Rove wasn't the leaker, he was actually the recipient of the information, not the provider," Republican National Committee chairman Ken Mehlman said on Fox News. "So there are probably a lot of folks in Washington who have prejudged this, who have rushed to judgment who are trying to smear Karl Rove."

ES&S arsehole.

My suggestion is to shift this conversation to Kingbee's discussion on the subject. There, at least, you have a blogger who knows the situation and is willing to acknowledge alternate perspectives even when he doesn't agree. Here you just validate someone who is looking for an excuse to reiterate the same ignorance over and over. Stop feeding the bot.

Now Time makes it CLEAR, that Karl Rove was the "First person to identify the wife of Wilson as a CIA Agent" to Cooper. It also looks as if Libby, Cheney's CoS, was the second person that Novak used to writre his article. I can not believe either Bush or Cheney did not know their staff were not part of this issue for the past two years. All along Bush, Cheney, Rove and the White House Press Sec all stated that Rove was NOT part of oiting Plame. Thoes are ALL LIES!!!!!!!!. We have another Watergate in the White House and another Vietnam in Iraq. Those who fail to learn from history will repeat it! HOW TRUE!

That has to be the most stupid thing I have ever heard on this forum.

This doesn't compare to Watergate in any way. Iraq does not resemble Vietnam in any way. You are showing your true self again col.
on Jul 18, 2005
The cove up and lies about the Plame case are the very same as the lies of Watergate and the attempt to cover it up. Bush and Cheney never expected the court to force the reporters to give up their sources.

The Iraq war is a war that the majority of Americans no longer support and in that it is just like Vietnam!

We have the TOP staff menbers of the President and most likely the VP as LIERS! The next issue will be when did Bush and Cheney learn that Rove and Libby were the sources of the outing of Plame?

First of all col, there is no "coverup". Second, there is absolutley no evidence Bush had any idea what supposedly went on. Get your facts straight before you make your stupid allegations.

The Iraq war is a war that the majority of Americans no longer support and in that it is just like Vietnam!

That's two amazingly stupid posts in one day. You have no idea what Americans support. Let me guess, you get your ideas from media polls of 1000 Americans, right col?

Most likely. In other words, you don't have facts to back up your claims.

The only liar here is you col. You are a pathetic partisan liberal who has no shame in the lies and propaganda you constantly put on this forum.

NOTHING I have said is untrue. Rove did lie about not outing Mrs Plame. The testamony of Cooper and Novak before the GJ prove that. That will be part of the Time article. It also looks as if Libby is the second source Novak used. If you believe Bush and Cheney DID NOT know they were the sources of the info Novak and Cooper used, you would follow that white rabbet with the pocket watch.

Wake up. It is not one poll that shows the majority do not support the Iraq War. Why do you think Bush is making all these addresses to bolster his position on the war. Almsot every day another attack make it clear this was a BIG mistake and only people that blindly support Bush will not open there eyes to the truth about this war. I am not the liar. We have liars in our government and a President that believes the END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS!

DID NOT LIE! You better start reading the papers, Klink. Even the press is saying that he did nothing wrong. NOVACK CALLED Rove asking about Plame. Which means he ALREADY knew her name. The following is from YOUR much used NYT! Read and be dismayed!

Robert D. Luskin, Mr. Rove's lawyer, said Thursday, "Any pertinent information has been provided to the prosecutor." Mr. Luskin has previously said prosecutors have advised Mr. Rove that he is not a target in the case, which means he is not likely to be charged with a crime.

The only liar around here is the person who is replying to this.
