Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

We need to STOP the Mayor of New Orleans from the forced evacuations. The pictures on the TV should NEVER take place in America. I believe the people that choose to remain in New Orleans have made an error. However, it should be their option, even if it means an end to their life!

The Governor or the Courts should stop this NOW!

When it was clear the state and local officials were not doing what needed to be done, Bush did nothing either. This is a complete failure of all three levels of governmnet. AS a follow up on Brown, the Washington post has a story that five of the top FEMA officials have no experience in dealing with disasters. They were are all Bush political favors. The more that come out the worse Bush looks.

Col, the only people that are worse off are the democrats for their politicizing of this disaster.

You seem to be missing something here col. You "did" know that the head of FEMA absolutely "requires" senate confirmation? So where is your outrage at them for not checking his resume? Most especially since Brown was confirmed by the senate "without" one single dissenting vote. And no the link isn't for Brown. It's just to show you that confirmation is required.

No Bush is the one that looks worse and worse. The Democrats did not force Bush to appoint people like Brown. They did not cut the funding for the levee rebuilding. They did not sit on their ass and fail to send Federal troops. At the Federal level, the failure is GWB

And at the personal level, the failure is in C.O.L.'s Gene's mirror with him standing in front of it. What a miserable life you must have there, never happy, and never gonna be happy. Switch to Democrat and run again, perhaps you'd actually get a few votes.

I have a problem with that. Not that there are failures at the FEDERAL level (there are failures at every level) but that you place the blame soley on Bush's shoulders. He didn't appoint Brown single-handedly, you know, it was a joint effort. From what I've seen and heard, nobody bothered to check Brown's credentials...so I don't believe that you can place the all the blame on one person.

You know who you remind me of, Gene? Bob Dole when he got himself bogged down in that whole tobacco company mess. he stuck to his story, regardless...much like you're doing with the 'Blame Bush' game.

The democrats voted for him col.

And I will tell you once again, this funding "cut" rhetoric is pointless, it would not have changed what happened.

The total failure belongs to the mayors and governor.

No the total failure does includes Bush. Look at the people he appointed to head FEMA. NO EXPERIENCE and Brown's resume was lies. Why did the Bush Administration not appoint qualified people? Why was Brown's resume not vetted?

You really feel that way genie? I thought suicide was still illegal in the state of Louisiana. I know if I saw someone holding a gun to their head I'd try to make them stop.

And staying there long term is about to be long, slow suicide for a lot of folks.

For the hearing impaired, I'll say this once more.

What I do know is that Bush appointed Brown, who had NO EXPERIENCE and lied on his resume, as will as four other top FEAM officials with NO EXPERIENCE. Look at the results!!!!!!!!! When you defend Bush like this you appear the FOOL!

The people that want to remain in New Orleans may be able to live knowing the danger. They are not harming anyone but themselves. People smoke cigarettes that causes cancer. Have we stopped them from smoking? There are also people in sections of the city that are not flooded who are also being forced to leave. WHY?

~move on folks, nothing to see here, just another example of how the left wants it BOTH ways, so no matter what happens, they'll still have something to bitch about.~

Truer words, truer words..... But then, Genieboy isn't a member of left...he's a MODERATE REPUBLICAN, rmember? Ahahahahaha!

People who smoke cigarretes aren't in danger of having their homes collapse on them due to their bad habit, either, though. Let's keep this argument in perspective.
I have to agree that people shouldn't be MADE to move; it should be their call.....but then, I know that though I feel that way, I won't be one to bitch when someone dies because they weren't forced out unwillingly. Can you say that, Gene?
