Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.
He was Correct-- They started in England.
Published on July 3, 2007 By COL Gene In Politics

Bush has been saying that if we leave Iraq the Terrorists will follow. Guess what - That is taking place while we are in Iraq. The British have now linked the terrorist attacks last week in Scotland and the two unsuccessful attacks in London to operations in Iraq. Our occupation of Iraq has spawned al Qaeda operations in Iraq like the operations in Afghanistan that brought 9/11 to America.

There were also dire warnings this week that attacks are planned from the terrorists in Iraq for the U.S. this summer. Bush was correct about al Qaeda following. What he forgot is that they are doing this BEFORE we leave Iraq and it is his invasion that has resulted in two foreign terrorist groups to begin operating in Iraq while we have 160,000 of our military in Iraq. We now have both al Qaeda and Hezbollah operating in Iraq under the nose of both our military and the Iraqi Military we have trained. They are busy planning their next attacks of the U.S. and other non Moslem countries.

The Iraq War has spawned NEW terrorist operations in Iraq that have attacked England. How long will it be before they attempt an attack in the U.S.? The Iraq War is tragic mistake that is making our security situation worse every day.

The truth is that we are not reducing the violence in Iraq with this surge because we are not changing the REASONS for the violence. The elements within Iraq can not agree on who and how Iraq will be controlled and the foreign terrorists are increasing. We now have both Hezbollah and al Qaeda operating in Iraq making the internal conflict worse.

Despite the added troops in Baghdad, the attacks continue. In addition the number and size of attacks outside Baghdad have dramatically increased. If we move our forces to areas outside Baghdad to quell those attacks they will increase in Baghdad.

We tried the surge idea three previous times without success. It is clear; we must turn the fight over to the Iraqi Forces we have trained. If they can not or will not control the fighting then it will be on their head. We have removed Saddam and enabled them to elect a government. The job is not up to them and if they fail then the Iraqi’s will be the ones to suffer the consequences. All we should do is prevent any violence in Iraq from spilling over into any other country.

Congress now must force Bush to change our policy and I believe that will happen because any GOP member of Congress up for reelection in November 2008 must respond to what the VAST majority of Americans want which is to end our involvement in the Iraq War.

most americans want us out of iraq with a positive outcome. that is the part that you democrats don't get. most americans want us out of iraq with a POSITIVE OUTCOME.

i want us out of iraq now but not if it is going to make things worse for them or for us.

“Most Americans want us out of Iraq with a positive outcome. That is the part that you democrats don't get. Most Americans want us out of Iraq with a POSITIVE OUTCOME.”

Bush has made that all but impossible. When he did not listen to the Generals as to what it would take to prevent the sectarian violence and the Foreign Terrorists to take over Iraq he doomed the outcome. As soon as the Sunni and Shea groups armed and organized we lost. As soon as we allowed al Qaeda and now Hezbollah to set up operations we made the situation worse.

So for all who would like us to get out with a positive outcome you can blame Bush for preventing that from happening! If you believe we are going to leave a stable Iraq you are in denial just like Bush! No matter when we leave there will be more violence and most likely an all out civil war. We will be blamed for that war with good reason. The only way Saddam should have been removed from power was by the Iraqi People NOT the U.S.

NO the IRAQ WAR IS 100% GWB. We would not be at war if Bush had not lied to Congress and if he had listened to the military leaders and sent enough troops to prevent the violence we see in Iraq. This weekend 220 were killed in and around Baghdad. So much for the Surge. The surge is in the level of violence.
on Jul 08, 2007
the violence was dieing down until the democrats last year started yelling about too many deaths.

about we cannot win this war.

about we should withdraw.

about we need a set day for said withdraw.

they also promised to make bush withdraw the troops. by the way who won that fight.

the democrats promised to let us lose this war so they could be elected.

the democrats gave the insurgents hope. with hope you can do almost anything.

you are supporting our militaries biggest enemy and it isn't the insurgents in iraq. it is the democrats in office in washington.

the general in charge keeps saying that we should be able to start withdrawing troops in march because of the surge.

so who do i believe so washed up idiot who thinks he used to be a col. of something. or the general in charge.

i will put my money on the general in charge instead of some arm chair quarterback.

"the violence was dieing down until the democrats last year started yelling about too many deaths."

There would not be any violence if Bush had not invaded Iraq or had sent enough troops to prevent the internal and external terrorism!

"about we cannot win this war." That is true and it is because of Bush.

the democrats promised to let us lose this war so they could be elected. That is BS. The GOP lost because the American People do not support their policies in Iraq and almost everything else.

The general in charge keeps saying that we should be able to start withdrawing troops in March because of the surge.

Then Bush should not object to Congress requiring a withdrawal in 2008 as part of the new budget.

I will put my money on the general in charge instead of some arm chair quarterback." Most of our generals said the Surge would not reduce the violence. Most of our generals said it would take 500,000 troops to control Iraq after Saddam was removed!

ok so your saying your comfortable with a mass murderer in control of chem. weapons and nuke weapons

Most of our generals said the Surge would not reduce the violence.

and i said that the general in charge said it is working

and your little quote above proves that it is starting to work.

Then Bush should not object to Congress requiring a withdrawal in 2008 as part of the new budget.

so your trying to tie the presidents hands again.

Ok so you’re saying you’re comfortable with a mass murderer in control of chem. weapons and nuke weapons. I am not comfortable with that but there are many countries where the dictators have the WMD that Saddam DID NOT have. We attacked a country that was at the bottom of the Danger list. WHY?

"And I said that the general in charge said it is working"

The leaders in Iraq and the continued attacks say the opposite. Now Iraqi Leaders are telling the average person in Iraq to ARM themselves because they have no confidence in the military to prevent attacks. That does NOT show that the Surge is working. READ:

BAGHDAD - Prominent Shiite and Sunni politicians called on Iraqi civilians to take up arms to defend themselves after a weekend of violence that claimed more than 220 lives, including 60 who died Sunday in a surge of bombings and shootings around Baghdad.

The calls reflect growing frustration with the inability of Iraqi security forces to prevent extremist attacks.

The weekend deaths included two American soldiers - one killed Sunday in a suicide bombing on the western outskirts of Baghdad and another who died in combat Saturday in Salahuddin province north of the capital, the U.S. command said. Three soldiers were wounded in the Sunday blast.

The Iraq Government has not met a single benchmark to resolve the many issues essential to ending the violence in Iraq. It is now time to bring our troops home and allow the Iraqi people to deal with the future of Iraq.

Official: Iraq Gov't Missed All Targets

WASHINGTON - A progress report on Iraq will conclude that the U.S.-backed government in Baghdad has not met any of its targets for political, economic and other reform, speeding up the Bush administration's reckoning on what to do next, a U.S. official said Monday.

One likely result of the report will be a vastly accelerated debate among President Bush's top aides on withdrawing troops and scaling back the U.S. presence in Iraq.

The "pivot point" for addressing the matter will no longer be Sept. 15, as initially envisioned, when a full report on Bush's so-called "surge" plan is due, but instead will come this week when the interim mid-July assessment is released, the official said.

"The facts are not in question," the official told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity because the draft is still under discussion. "The real question is how the White House proceeds with a post-surge strategy in light of the report."
