Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.

All you FAT CAT supporters better get ready. The Democrats will control in January 2009 and the worm will turn. The new tax proposal is a good example. The new plan will LOWER the taxes for 91 Million Americans , Lower tax rates on corporations and increase the rates less then 5% for the very wealthy who number about 1.5 Million. GREAT NEWS. Help for the masses and offset the lost revenue by taxing those that can afford to pay just a little more. NO ONE can claim with a straight face that an increase of 4.5% for people with incomes over $500,000 per year will harm the wealthy. It will stimulate the economy from higher spending by the 91 Million and increase profit margins for corporations.

I can not wait for this badly needed change!

The difference between this tax cut and the Bush tax Cuts is that by increasing taxes on those that can afford to pay more and who have received the BIG share of the Bush Cuts will pay for it by the wealthy rather then increase the debt!

you still don't get it. taxes are business expense. businesses pass on those expenses to their customer. and who are the customer why that would be the middle class and the poor. you have already stated that the rich don't eat.

I believe we need to begin helping the middle income American Family and have the wealthy give up the huge tax cuts they received under Bush.

Nanny state paid for by a certain class of Americans.  Pathetic.

One thing you are good at gene (besides distorting things) is telling other people what how their money should be spent.  Except you only do that for the "rich".

Notice how you don't respond to articles like this:  https://forums.joeuser.com/?forumid=34&aid=166028#1344824

Small business owners and anyone else with incomes over $500,000 are the people that have benefited from the Bush tax Cuts

`there go some of those jobs.

brad has already said that if you raise his taxes he will have to fire people.

That is PURE BS. Those same small business owners, who paid the higher taxes before Bush and his tax cuts, were doing just fine. The 1990's were good for the rich and small business. A 4.5% surtax for people making OVER $500,000 per year will not in the slightest harm those people or cut their spending! It will NOT cost jobs or harm the middle class or the poor. The added money the Middle Class will have from the cut in their taxes will put money in their hands to SPEND and HELP the economy!

We don't need to "help" the middle class. Why this insistence that people are incapable of providing for them and can't possibly survive without money from the government?”

Better take a look at mortgage failures. Better take a look at REAL wages after inflation. Better take a look at what those new Jobs Bush talks about are PAYING. BETTER TAKE A LOOK AT why SO MANY MORE CAN NOT AFFORD HEALTH INSURANCE. Better take a look at WHY 75% of Americans do not agree with the Bush/GOP policies!

the democrats don't think people can survive without the government.

Bush and the GOP think the RICH can not survive without big tax cuts. That is BS! They did so in the 1990's!!!!!

Bush is not responsible for people overextending themselves, Col.

What you are proposing is a fascist state where all major purchases must be approved by the government, and individual choices aren't allowed. And your extremely Stalinist views are why we oppose you.

Listen, Asschunk! I know many Americans working their asses off to feed their families. The idea of subsidizing Joe Middle Class' health insurnce so he doesn't miss a payment on his F^&%ing Lexxus is BEYOND offensive to us!

PURE BUNK. We did not a fascist state during the 1990's when the tax rates were higher on the wealthy. That is an over used statement by those who do not want to pay a little more in taxes even though it would not change their life style and would help millions and spending. The issue of cutting taxes to the 90 Million is one of good economics- people at those income levels will SPEND most if not all of the added disposable money the will have after the tax cut and that will help the economy. On the other hand, although the over $500,000 per year people will not like paying that added 4.5% it will not cause them financial problems or impact their spending. The increased spending by the masses will stimulate business which will come back to the wealthy that own and or run the companies that will experience the increased sales and higher profits.

Col, to increase spending to the levels you are proposing we can't afford to cut taxes on anyone and you know it. But when your socialist state gets here, free speech will be out the window as well, so it won't matter, will it?

Call yourself what you are, Col. You are a fascist socialist. Wear the badge proudly.

The tax cuts for the 91 Million will be paid for by the 4.5% tax on the 1.5 million making over $500,000 per year. It is a sound plan. Lets put it to a VOTE!

Gideon

Please explain how the poor soles with income over $500,000 per year will be impacted by a 4.5% tax increase:

I guess they will have to give up Caviar every day.

Their new Fleet of BMW 7 series every year.

Tell us how they will be unable to pay their mortgage or health insurance for their children.

Make the case why people earning over 1/2 million each year will be harmed by a slightly higher tax so that 91 MILLION OTHERS CAN GAT A TAX CUT and increase spending to help the economy!

on Oct 27, 2007
Never said they will be impacted, Col.

Using your logic, it's OK to steal $100 off the table of a rich man, but not a poor man because they won't miss it. Just because they won't miss it doesn't make it any less theft.

22,500 dollars above what they are paying now.

that will cost one job.

Changing the tax laws is not stealing. You fail to address the economic impact of the added disposable income to the 91 Million from the tax cuts paid from the surplus of the wealthy. The issue is what will help more-- Allowing 1.5 Million to keep more of the significant wealth or cut taxes with that money to people who will spend it and stimulate the economy. Demand not Supply is the bigger driver and that is why this plan will help while making the lives of the middle income working families better. At the same time the wealthy will not be harmed a bit!

WRONG. So long as the demand increases by the middle income spending that tax cut the benefit will be far greater then the loss to a wealthy person from that $22,500. The jobs will increase because of increased economic activity caused by the added spending! In addition the lives of the middle income family will be better.

So you finally admit you are for income redistribution.  Well done comrade.
