Evaluation of the policies of George W. Bush and his Republican conservatives on America.
He is not Tone deaf but Stone deaf

President Bush has said he will veto any attempt by Congress to stop the proposed sale of six American Ports to Dubai Ports. Mr. Bush has asked what is the difference between a British company who currently owns and operates the ports and a company from the United Arab Emirates? Let’s take a look Mr. Bush:

The current operator is NOT owned and operated by the British Government.

Dubai Ports is OWNED and OPERATED by the UAE.

None of the 9/11 terrorists were English citizens.

Two of the 9/11 terrorists were from UAE.

England recognizes Israel.

UAE does NOT recognize Israel.

Funding for 9/11 did not go through British Banks.

Funding for 9/11 did go through UAE Banks.

England did not warn Osama bin Laden in 1999 of our intent to capture him which enabled his escape but UAE DID WARN HIM and that prevented his capture by the United States.

England does not support Islamic Terrorist organizations.

Several Islamic organizations have been supported by elements in the UAE. The UAE was only one of three countries in the world that recognized the Taliban as the ruler of Afghanistan.

President Bush tells us that the security at our ports will remain unchanged under this new contract. That means we will continue to inspect about 5% of the containers that come into the United States. That also means Dubai Ports will be responsible to supervise loading ALL these containers and prepare the documentation showing what is in all these containers. This is what Mr. Bush is willing to turn over to the UAE.

Mr. Bush – Congress and the American people DO NOT WHANT THIS CONTRACT APPROVED! Just like Rep. Myrick ® from NC said when she wrote you about allowing this contract to be approved – Not only NO but HELL NO! Mr. Bush - bring on your Veto. Congress - override his veto.

It is time for Congress to insist that George W. Bush begin to meet his responsibilities to FULLY protect our ports and borders. He must request to fully fund the Coast Guard and our military. It is DISGARCEFUL how Mr. Bush has FAILED to fully protect our country. It is time for an American company to own and operate our ports.

Please explain WHY the Coast Guard saw security problems with Dubai taking over the operation of these ports and WHY the 9/11 Commission had problems with UAE?

Please explain WHY the Coast Guard saw security problems with Dubai

You obviously have chosen to ignore that the Coast Guard says the quote was taken out of context.

The day just one WMD comes through our ports, the fantasy will be OVER!

What fantasy? The fantasy that all our port containers are being checked at higher than a 5% rate? That wasn't happening now, and maybe we should get on P&O's back about that. Y'know, since this controversy about another company taking over for P&O... Those darn Brits. Where is the crying and screaming about their lack of security procedures?

The truth is that economics drive this bus. I heard an article by Robert Reich this morning on NPR, and he said that this port deal does not matter! Because it's not about ownership (the US is not selling the ports to a foreign entity) and it's not about security (the Coast Guard and Customs has sufficient manpower to do the job). It's about one business buying out another business, just like Chinese interests trying to buy Amoco and the like. It's just business.

All this tramping of feet and rending of clothes is just a school of political pirahnas stripping the helpless cow that wandered into the Amazon shallows.

I do not have to make Bush look BAD.

BTW, no you don't have the ability to make the President look bad. Jon Stewart, CNN, New York Times... they can make the President look bad. You, my friend, are not a player.

However, you have the ability to make yourself look bad. That comes from posting away with your hat conveniently covering your eyes. You only peek out to see things you want to see. Your blithering drones about GWB are such a nuisance. You refuse to concede a point, no matter how grounded in reality it is, because it doesn't gibe with your own mindset. If you treat people in real life like you treat the people on JU, you would be a social pariah.

Kudos on typing in the dark. I have to look at my hands when I type.

You are correct I am not a player. What I can do is bring ALL the information from the PLAYERS to the forefront. That is what I have done with my new book. It is crammed FULL of information from the PLAYERS that show just how much of an idiot Bush and supports have been and how his policies have harmed this country!

9/11 Commission had problems with UAE?

My own personal problem with this company is this:

IT is owned 100 percent by the royal family who even at this moment running the UAE has an embargo against Israel.

It is against American LAW for anyone to do business with a country or company who has an embargo against Israel (just learned that today).

So really, this is probably now a non issue.

The contract won't be approved unless the law changes, or the UAE lifts its embargo against Israel. And I'm not holding my breath.

For the same reason clorox only kills 99.9% of germs and bacteria, because nothing is perfect and the Coast Gaurds have to say they don't like what they see so that in the case something did happen no one can blame them. Duh, that is so obvious that you are completely oblivious to reality.

and WHY the 9/11 Commission had problems with UAE?

Because someone, other than the US, had to take the fall so that the American people could have some closure over the deaths of thier loved ones. Stop being so stupid Col, 85% of the products you use or own are made in China or Taiwa, you don't seem to have a problem using products made by people who get a $1 or $2 an hour and live under a communist Gov't so stop acting as if you are looking out for the best interest of everyone else.

You don't bring the info from the players, you bring your interpritation of what they are trying to say. You book is crammed full of all the horse crap that comes out of your mouth and all of these players would not back your book if you gave them 5% each of the earnings. All you post is your twisted ideas of what others have said. Even worse, you are claiming to make money off of other peoples words when in reality it comes from your single track mind and that would be cosnidered false advertisement.

I did not know about the law that prevents this contract because UAE will not do business with Israel. That will not mean anything to Bush. He only follows those laws he agrees with and disregards all others.

I didn't know about it either and will research it when I have two free minutes.

The problem (or the loop hole) is can the law separate what they do politically from what they do when they run their business?

Fox reported this morning that American ships were stopped around 235 times last year by UAE port authorities to MAKE SURE we carried no Israel products.

As far as I can gleen so far, (and honestly I haven't researched this report in detail yet) these authorities were acting on direct orders from the royal family, the same one that owns this company...which according to the Judge on Fox is against US law...

But with most laws I am sure we can find a way around it.

You can't lay that at Bush's feet though.

As more info becomes available, people are allowed to change their minds without it looking disloyal.

Incredible, someone who almost sounds like they are agreeing with Col yet somehow can be tolerated and understood. So how is it that you can disagree with people here and sound OK but Col couldn't if his life depended upon it?

This is an interesting thing you're pointing out. Gotta see how this goers thru in this dilema. But you have proven to us what we argue with with Col so much, at least you found a good reason why this deal may not and maybe should not go thru. And you didn't have to scream hatred towards Bush to do it. Col lacks that ability to push his ideas without drilling his hatred towards Bush on us. You could teach him a thing or 2. Let's see what others have to say about this law you found.

I haven't found it yet...ha. I just heard the Judge mention the law and now I am doing some digging to see what he was referring too. But if I find it I will post it.

I don't blame Bush for this at ALL. That would be stupid...whether its a good deal and goes ahead or a bad deal and stops. He is not a micro manager. Frankly, if my Pres is dabbling in every little detail like this I would wonder who is seeing the big picture and keeping an eye on the larger issues.

So I don't agree with Gene as far as blaming Bush, and I haven't decided if I am against it or not yet, as the facts are still forthcoming.

But as of yesterday I was FOR it. I didn't see what all the fuss was about....until this morning I heard what I stated above...I am not above changing my mind in light of new info.

You do not know what you are talking about. I have brought what the PLAYERS have advised Bush. People like, O'Neil, Greenspan, and the Comptroller General of the U S. Gates, Buffet, generals Riggs, McCaffrey, Shinseki, and Clark. Professors Krugman, Record, Tsurumi, Kersh. Ron Suskind, Michael Scheuer, Richard Clark. The Treasury Dept. GAO, Labor Dept, OMB etc. These are the PLAYERS.
