Year after year the Bush administration ignores the way China is harming our country. They ignore property rights and under value their currency to gain unfair advantage in selling their products which makes it harder for U.S. products to be sold in China. These practices add to the trade imbalance which is over $200 Billion dollars per year. If all that were not bad enough we continue to see products from China as HEALTH Hazards like tainted Chicken and Fish. Now millions of toys ma...

Here is a real life example of how the Conservatives waste your tax dollars. In 2000 the Sanibel Bridge was inspected and its condition showed it needed to be replaced. That meant a tax increase to fund the project. At that time we had Jeb Bush busily cutting the 1/10 of 1% tax on investments over $500,000 and the GOP controlled Lee County had no stomach for increasing local taxes. The bridge replacement was put off and a little over 2 years ago chunks on concrete began falling into th...

The pictures this week of the leaders of Iraq and Iran walking hand in Hand shows just how big a mistake Bush has made in Iraq. In Iraq entire neighborhoods are being cleansed of all Sunnis. The Sunni members of the Maliki cabinet have resigned and we see the Iraqi PM moving closer to the leader of Iran. This is what our invasion of Iraq has created which is a government in Iraq that is doing just what Saddam did –eliminate any opposition and we have expanded the influence of the Shiites...

President Bush expressed his opposition to an increase in the Federal Gasoline tax to provide the needed funding to deal with the 70,000 bridges that are in need of repair. The Chairman of the House Transportation Committee has proposed a 5 Cent increase in the 18.4 cent Federal gasoline tax to help provide the federal contribution to the Bridge Repairs. Bush only wants to look at reallocating the $24 Billion in Highway funds that are allocated by Earmarks. The vast majority of the $286 B...

The increase in the National Debt and the impact on the interest we must pay each year on that debt is a major and growing problem for the country. Many on this Blog site either ignore this issue or attempt to marginalize the issue because they do not want to have to admit first the cause and second the solution. Mr. Walker has been trying to explain the real danger that faces our country as never before. The reason is because of the size of the issues as well as the number of major is...

Today CNN covered a story about the Sec. of Homeland Security questioning the cost to implement the new state driver’s licenses under the Real ID Act that was signed into law May 11, 2005 and which has yet to be implemented. This is an essential element to know the identify people in the U.S. There could not be anything more basic to fight terrorism in the United States. To show just how faulty the judgment of the Bush administration is first over two years after Bush signed it into l...

I can not count the number of times that Bloggers on Joeuser use this response, “it is just Bush Bashing” to articles I have posted. It is a lame excuse and attempt to divert attention from the factual outcomes that result from the policies we are following. I looked back over some of the hundreds of Blogs I have posted on this site. Almost ALL were all predicated on either a news story (stories) or factual information in a report from an agency of the government or a legitimate r...

Another day and yet another story of how badly the Bush Administration has managed the war in Iraq. Bush complains how Iran and Syria are supplying the weapons that are being used to kill our troops in Iraq. Well the GAO has found that 190,000 AK-47 Assault rifles and pistols that were given to the Iraqi Security Forces can not be accounted for and some of these weapons are most likely being used by insurgents to kill American Troops. A prior report admitted there were 14,000 unaccounted...

On Meet the Press today they reviewed a VERY reveling national poll. It looked at the top 13 issues faced by Americans. It looked at which party had an advantage in the eyes of the American people. Here are the results: Global Warming + 39% for Democrats Health + 36% for democrats Gas Prices + 35% for Democrats Reducing Taxes + 25% for Democrats Education + 22% f...

This morning the front page reports that in 2007 the Federal Highway Trust Fund, which is the source of the Federal Funding for road and bridge repair, is not collecting as much tax revenue as the amount required for the approved repairs. In addition the repairs that are needed are far greater then those that have been approved. The Philadelphia Inquirer story makes the comparison of the fiscal problems of the highway trust fund with the fiscal problems of Social Security. The proble...

We have wasted $44 Billion in Iraq to rebuild their infrastructure and do nothing to deal with identical problems in America. We spend $12 Billion each month on a lost cause in Iraq. Last month it was the steam line in New York. Let’s keep burying our heads in the sand!

The Democrats have been attempting to curtail the huge payments under the farm subsidy program and Bush has threatened to Veto that bill. Between 2003-2005 the GAO documented payments to wealthy farmers who do not need the subsidy, dead farmers and people who are not farmers but who receive farm subsidy payments from the U.S. taxpayers. 70% of the total farm subsidies are being paid to large farmers who have annual income as high as $2.5 Million dollars. The concept of this program wa...

The Sunni members of the Maliki government have pulled out of the government which means the Iraqi government is unable to function. This insures the inability of the Iraqi Government to resolve the issues that are the reason for the sectarian fighting. No matter what the military situation may be in September, the situation in Iraq is getting worse. Today there were four terrorist attacks in which 70 Iraqis were killed. So much for the Surge controlling the violence. At best the...

That is a question that Oxfam International’s report about Iraq helped answer. They had not issued a report on the conditions in Iraq since early 2003 because of the invasion and the fighting. This group is not political but examines the real conditions that face the Iraqi People. Under Saddam you could be killed just for disagreeing with him. Today you can be killed just by going out of you house to do the most basic function of living. The overall security situation today compare...

Stewart Bowen Jr. from GAO submitted the latest quarterly report to Congress on the progress to rebuild the infrastructure in Iraq. The U.S. has given Iraq $44 Billion dollars to help rebuild things like the oil production, water and electricity. The report, like earlier reports, is not good. The Iraqi Government continues to refuse to take responsibility for over 2000 reconstruction projects. A major electric generation plant at Dora that we rebuilt at a cost of tens of millions of doll...
